What is Ulthera?

Ulthera is the first aesthetic device that uses HIFU-Knife, or high-intensity focused ultrasound, and is a device for face-lift surgery without cutting with a scalpel. It is a safe system that allows treatment while viewing the treatment area with the attached ultrasound imaging device, even without making an incision.

With the imaging device attached, the target skin layer is visible. When focused and delivered at a depth of 3 to 4.5 mm from the skin, the HIFU-Knife reaches the connective tissue called Connective Tissue (SMAS + Dermis + Facia), and a series of thermal coagulation zones are created in this area. In the thermal coagulation zones, immediate tightening occurs due to the thermal reaction, and at the same time, the wound-healing process begins.

During the wound-healing process, a substance called cytokine is released. This substance stimulates fibroblasts, which synthesize collagen and produce new collagen. This collagen regeneration process is an important step in skin rejuvenation for wrinkles, scars, and lifting.
