What is hyperhidrosis?

Everyone sweats. However, when sweating becomes excessive and interferes with daily life, this condition is called “hyperhidrosis.”

Areas where hyperhidrosis occurs

Hyperhidrosis can occur in many places.

It can occur across the entire face, or you may sweat excessively on the forehead,

and it can also occur in the underarms, on the whole body, on the palms, on the soles of the feet, and in any area.

Botox treatment for hyperhidrosis

People who sweat locally often receive Botox treatment to make daily life more comfortable. Many people think of Botox only as a procedure used to smooth crow’s feet, frown lines, to reshape the jaw, or to slim the calves, but Botox is also used to treat hyperhidrosis. When Botox is injected into the area affected by hyperhidrosis, it suppresses sweating in the sweat glands of that area, which temporarily keeps that area dry and reduces sweating.

The downside of Botox treatment is that the effect does not last long.

Usually, the effect lasts 4 to 6 months, and in some cases up to 8 months.
