Today, we’d like to talk about male rhinoplasty while explaining the nose surgery case of a male patient who visited our hospital after deciding to have surgery because he had long been conscious of his hump nose and bulbous nose and felt they were a complex.

Hump Nose & Bulbous Nose

🔎Problem Points

This patient was having his first nose surgery. From the front, the tip was blunt and wide, making the nose look spread out overall, which is characteristic of a bulbous nose. At the same time, the bridge had a bony protrusion, making it uneven and not smooth, and he also had a hump nose with a drooping tip.

🔎Desired Line

The nose line he wanted was similar to actor Ji Chang-wook’s, with a sharp bridge and a straight, masculine line.

🔎Surgical Plan and Improvement Results

First rhinoplasty

Surgical plan: Silicone, hump nose correction, bulbous nose correction, lateral osteotomy, lowering the columella

Cartilage used: Septal cartilage, ear cartilage

Silicone 6 mm

The line was designed as a straight line so that masculinity would stand out.

After surgery, the bulbous nose that made the nose look blunt from the front and the bridge that had a curve when viewed from the side were refined to make them slimmer and smoother, improving the nose into the straight line that had been desired.

Two days after surgery, the packing inside the nose and the gauze under the nose are removed. The splint and stitches are removed on day 7 after a visit to the clinic.
