Wish Implant

Hello, this is Yeo Sang-ho, CEO Director of Yonsei Wish Dental.
The freedom to eat the food you want
and enjoy it without a second thought.
The ease of laughing with your mouth wide open
without worrying about other people's eyes
when something really fun happens.
There may have been a time when you did not realize
how precious these things were,
but if you are considering implants,
you are likely feeling once again
just how grateful those things truly are.
Losing a tooth takes away
more happiness from our lives than you might think.
To help you regain that lost happiness,
that Wish of yours,
Yonsei Wish Dental continues
implant treatment today as well.
What Is an Implant?

An implant is a procedure in which an artificial tooth root is placed into the jawbone near a missing tooth,
restoring a shape and function similar to the original tooth.
Through this, you can once again experience the joy of chewing, biting, and tasting,
and the comfort of opening your mouth to see all your teeth in place.
If the empty space left by a missing tooth is left unattended for a long time,
other teeth may tilt,
there may be problems with the teeth not fitting together when you close your mouth,
and in severe cases the gums may recede.
Implants help prevent these problems
and restore the happiness of everyday life that was lost.
Implant Treatment Methods

There are several implant treatment methods.
I will briefly organize the main ones for you.
💤 Sedation Implant
Before implant treatment, many people have fears such as,
"What if it hurts?"
That is why, so you can receive implants safely and comfortably in a light sedated state without worrying about pain or time,
experienced specialists carry out real-time monitoring at the same time.
🏁 Navigation Implant
Just as you can arrive at your destination without error when driving according to navigation,
we perform a navigation implant mock surgery that uses 3D CT to analyze precisely so that the implant can be placed exactly where needed without error.

🦴 Bone Graft Implant
If the health of the gums is poor
or there has been a long period without teeth,
there is a high possibility that jawbone has been lost.
In such cases, bone graft surgery is performed
to help the prosthesis settle firmly in place.
👄 Full-Mouth Implant
Unfortunately, if there are no teeth at all,
or only 1–2 teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw,
full-mouth implants covering the entire oral cavity can restore chewing ability and aesthetics.
What About Re-Implantation?

If you previously received an implant
but for some reason re-placement is needed,
then even greater care is required.
Because there are more factors to consider than in the first procedure,
a consultation with a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery,
who has a deep understanding of oral anatomy, is necessary.
Implant Treatment Process
1️⃣ Consultation & Examination
First, it is necessary to check whether implants are possible
and which area and how the procedure should be carried out.
Based on this, the future treatment plan is decided.
2️⃣ First Surgery - Implant Placement
Once the direction has been decided, the gums are incised
and the artificial root is placed into the jawbone
in the first surgery.

3️⃣ Healing & Osseointegration Period
After the first surgery, a recovery period is needed
so that the implant and jawbone can naturally connect.
Usually, the lower jaw takes about 3–4 months,
and the upper jaw takes about 5–6 months.
4️⃣ Second Surgery - Abutment Connection
After osseointegration is complete, the next step is
connecting the post that will support the artificial tooth.
After that, there is another recovery period.

5️⃣ Prosthesis Placement
After the gums have recovered to some extent,
the final step is to fabricate and attach the artificial tooth prosthesis,
completing the implant process.
However, even after this,
you should continue visiting the dental clinic to check hygiene conditions and the state of the prosthesis,
and you need to consistently manage your oral health in daily life.
Precautions Before Surgery
✅ Before the implant procedure and on the day of the procedure,
avoid excessive exercise,
and refrain from alcohol and smoking while getting sufficient sleep.
✅ If you have systemic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, angina, myocardial infarction,
bleeding disorders, use of anticoagulants, or hepatitis,
be sure to consult your attending physician in advance.
✅ Any allergic reactions or side effects to specific medications
should also be reported to the medical staff beforehand
so a safer plan can be established.
✅ If there is inflammation in the mouth or periodontal disease,
it is better to treat these first before proceeding.

Precautions After Surgery
✅ After the procedure, take the prescribed medication as directed,
and bite down on the gauze for about 2 hours to stop the bleeding!
If bleeding continues or is excessive,
be sure to contact the hospital!
✅ Swelling and pain are not side effects
but a natural part of the healing process.
Ice packs applied at about 20-minute intervals
can be helpful!
✅ On the day of the procedure, eat cold food or liquids,
and for about one week afterward, eat soft foods.
In particular, it is best to avoid hard or chewy foods, hot foods,
and spicy, salty, or otherwise irritating foods.
Also, since caffeine may cause blood vessel constriction,
please avoid coffee and some types of tea as well.
✅ Please maintain no smoking and no drinking for at least one week,
and also avoid strenuous exercise and heat-inducing activities
such as hot baths or saunas.
✅ Be careful not to touch the implant site with your tongue or hands
until it has healed.
✅ You may brush your teeth as usual in areas
other than the treated site.

In this way, I have explained implants,
treatment methods, the process,
and precautions before and after the procedure.
For healthy teeth and durable implants
that can be used for a long time,
Yonsei Wish Dental will continue to work with you
for your oral health.
So that everyone can once again
regain a beautiful smile and daily life!
Thank you.
Making everyone's smile beautiful,
