Hello, this is Su-kyung Lee, a specialist in integrated dentistry.
If you are interested in skin aesthetics, you may have heard of Rejuran.
It is one of the treatments that has gained attention because it is said to be highly effective for skin regeneration.
PDRN (Poly deoxy ribo nucleotide), the key ingredient in Rejuran, has excellent regenerative effects.
It is a medicine made using DNA extracted from the semen or testes of salmon or trout.
The Tissue Regeneration Activator, which helps reduce inflammation and promote tissue regeneration in damaged areas, is
not only applicable to the skin, but also shows excellent effects in the oral cavity, joints, and other areas.
That is why a variety of products using it have been released, such as cosmetics, treatments for diabetic ulcers, eye drops, and nutritional supplements.
Today, I would like to share information about how Rejuran can be used inside the mouth at a Bangsin-dong dental clinic.
- PDRN
First, let me explain PDRN, which is called Rejuran, in more detail.

As shown in the schematic prepared by the Bangsin-dong dental clinic, when the human body is injured, it recovers through the inflammatory phase, proliferative phase, and maturation phase.
In this process, it provides the following benefits.
When injected, it suppresses the activation pathway of macrophages, reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines and increasing anti-inflammatory cytokines. Through this, an anti-inflammatory effect can be expected.
In addition, fibroblasts, osteoblasts, and chondrocytes are activated, increasing various growth factors.
Microcirculation increases, and the supply of nutrients and oxygen becomes smoother, inducing neovascularization and new vessel formation in the damaged area.
- Gum treatment

As explained earlier, because it helps with regeneration, it can be useful in gum treatment.
When the gums are swollen and bleeding, and periodontal cleansing is being performed due to "gingivitis/periodontitis,"
PDRN can be additionally used to support recovery.
Then it helps the tissue healing process and shows a pattern of faster recovery.
Also, when bone tissue has been lost due to periodontitis, combining injections with periodontal cleansing
can further speed recovery and clearly help bring about a positive improvement.
However, there is an important point to note in this process, which I will explain further at the Bangsin-dong dental clinic.
The injection is used to induce faster healing,
but it is not a medicine that guarantees complete improvement.
Therefore, the fundamental cause—plaque deposits and bacteria—must be removed to promote cleanliness,
and factors that hinder healing, such as systemic conditions like diabetes, smoking, and alcohol consumption, must be controlled in order to obtain clear benefits.
- Bone grafting
Second, injections can also help during the bone grafting stage.

As in the example photo from the Bangsin-dong dental clinic, if inflammation develops around an implant after it is placed and bone is destroyed, the screw threads become exposed.
If the condition becomes severe, the implant itself becomes difficult to use, so improvement is needed.

Because the upper part of the screw is exposed outside the alveolar bone, a way to compensate for this is needed.
In such cases, PDRN can be used together with a small amount of bone grafting.

Then, as shown in the photo, the alveolar bone recovers and the implant is stably surrounded by the alveolar bone.
As shown today at the Bangsin-dong dental clinic, even apart from bone grafting, positive improvement can be achieved with injections alone,
and if the oral environment is poor when the implant is first placed, combining placement and injections can reduce risk during the healing stage.

We prepared a magnified photo of the bone tissue around an implant at the Bangsin-dong dental clinic. The dark area is newly formed bone, and the bright area is existing bone tissue or graft material. Through research, it was found that when PDRN was used, there was more newly formed bone, and osseointegration was smoother. *Park JH et al. 2022 J periodontoal lmplant sci

Today at the Bangsin-dong dental clinic, we shared information about PDRN, which helps recovery.
It is gaining attention in various fields such as aesthetics, orthopedics, and temporomandibular joints,
and I hope this was helpful for those who were curious about what effects it provides.
