There are various types of materials used for threads, but the representative one is PDO thread.

Depending on the shape, they are broadly divided into barbed and non-barbed threads.

Non-barbed threads are used for the purpose of being inserted into the skin and forming collagen, while barbed threads are useful for catching onto tissue and pulling it upward.

In fact, when using threads, we do not limit ourselves to just one type of product; after considering the patient’s skin condition in various ways, we may use a combination of them.

For areas where volume has been lost, using a product such as Silhouette Soft that also helps create volume can lead to more positive results.

Why do we make and use our own threads?

Existing PDO threads are relatively short, so if we assume lifting the jowls, they are inserted near the temples and hooked and pulled downward.

However, in this case, if the lifting is too strong, it can cause the tissue to gather around the cheekbone area, making the cheekbones appear more prominent or making the face look larger.

Also, because the insertion is done in visible areas, any marks that remain are another issue that cannot be ignored.
