Hello. This is Reborn Plastic Surgery, located at Exit 1 of Sinsa Station. :)
People often say, “When the first digit of your age changes, many things change.” In particular, when you move from your 20s into your 30s, skin sagging becomes more noticeable, so you can really feel, “Ah, I’m getting older too.”
These days, there are many good cosmetics and home-care products, so there are also quite a few people who take care of their skin from a young age. Still, what cannot be ignored is the passage of time.
It is said that collagen in the skin begins to diminish around the age of 20, and by the time you reach your 30s, about 10% has decreased.
As a result, skin elasticity declines, fine lines begin to appear first in thinner areas, nasolabial folds deepen, and the cheek area above them can also become puffy and protrude.
For people who already have some facial volume, fat around the jawline can sag downward, causing the facial contour to lose definition.
At this point, various anti-aging corrections can be considered, but for younger people, one representative option that can be applied without much burden is the “mini facelift.”
Various aesthetic devices, ultrasound lifting, radiofrequency lifting, thread lifting, and so on... While there is a tendency to prefer noninvasive or minimally invasive procedures, they come with the inconvenience of needing ongoing or repeated treatments.
Facelift surgery, which physically pulls the skin, can produce clear before-and-after changes, but it is also true that it is difficult to decide on it easily because of the burden of major surgery and the cost.
In that case, a mini facelift can provide lifting in the desired area more strongly than a procedure, yet with less burden than a full facelift.
At our clinic, we would like to introduce the 3-step temple lift (temple surgery) for gently tightening the mid-cheek area and the jawline that many people are concerned about. ^^

Why lift the temple area?
When we usually talk about the temple area, we tend to refer only to the front part of the head next to the eyes and above the ears. Medically, however, it is a relatively broad area that extends to the parts covered by hair.

In a 3-step temple lift, the incision is also made in the area covered by hair, so the incision line is not exposed externally.
In a typical facelift, a wide incision is made along the hairline and behind the ears, so problems such as scarring and skin folding often occur, and there was a significant burden in terms of recovery and cost.
However, our clinic’s temple lift uses a minimal incision, so there is less concern about scarring, and because the incision is made in a way that preserves the hair roots, the hair continues to grow normally over time.
Because we only make the incision as much as necessary, the surgery time is shorter and recovery is faster.
The biggest feature of a temple lift is that it can strongly pull up the sagging tissue on the side of the face.
The cheekbones, mid-cheek area, and unattractively sagging jawline are the areas many people worry about most.
After making an incision at the temple, pulling the tissue, and fixing it in place, the jawline that had been hidden by fat becomes visible, and the mid-cheek area and cheekbone region are gently lifted, creating a much sharper impression.
The reason for lifting the temple area is not limited to this. The side of the scalp where the temple is located and the facial area of the face differ in the space where they are attached to the bone.
If you touch the cheek area, you can tell that the inside is deeper and contains much more tissue. In other words, it means that there is a certain amount of space between the bone structure and the soft tissue.
Therefore, as time passes, it will inevitably sag further downward. In contrast, the temple area is closely attached to the scalp and skin, so it is a relatively less sagging area.
If this area is lifted, the rate of sagging will be clearly different from that of the face even as time passes, and a longer-lasting result can be expected.

What should you be careful about with a 3-step temple lift?
A temple lift is one of the mini lift surgeries that has been attempted by many plastic surgery clinics for a long time because the scar is not visible and because of its lasting results.
However, because it involves making an incision in an area with hair, care must be taken, as damaging the hair roots can cause the hair to stop growing permanently.
That is why at Reborn Plastic Surgery, we protect the hair roots by making an oblique incision that does not disturb them.
In addition, the temple area contains many nerves and blood vessels, so if the doctor does not have sufficient anatomical knowledge and experience, it is difficult to achieve good results no matter how small the incision is.
This is why you need to carefully compare your options and go through a skilled board-certified plastic surgeon.
