"My facial sagging has gotten really bad lately, so I’m thinking about getting a facelift or thread lifting. But a facelift feels a bit too much, and thread lifting seems a little insufficient. Is there a good option?"

To improve sagging skin and fine wrinkles on the face, many people look into facelift surgery or thread lifting. However, many hesitate because of the scars from incisions in a facelift and the long recovery period.
In the case of the facelift you may be interested in, it used to be a procedure often performed on middle-aged and older adults with significant signs of aging, but recently it has also been sought by younger people who are highly interested in anti-aging.
This is to prevent aging in advance or to improve sagging caused by contour surgery. Unlike thread lifting or laser lifting, which need to be done regularly, surgery can provide satisfying results for a long period of time.
However, it is true that many people cannot easily decide because of the burden of incisions and recovery time. At Reborn Plastic Surgery, we have always continued to think and research in order to ease this burden for you, even if only a little.
What we developed after all that research is the Three-Step Temple Lift that I will introduce today. ^^ If you are worried about traditional facelifts but feel that thread lifting may not be effective enough, the Three-Step Temple Lift may be worth considering.

A traditional facelift is a surgery that can help improve sagging skin and wrinkles. The general method involves making an incision from the temple to behind the ear and lifting the overall sagging areas.
The Three-Step Temple Lift performed at our clinic makes a very small incision near the temple to directly lift sagging muscles and skin, and if needed, thread lifting is additionally combined.
If you have read this far, you may be wondering why the temple area is lifted in particular. ^^ I’ll explain briefly.
The first reason is that it is part of the scalp and an area with less skin sagging.
The facial skin has areas that are sunken depending on the shape of the skull. These are the areas around the orbit, which surrounds the eyes, and below the cheekbones. Because there is space between the skin and the skull in these areas, they are especially prone to sagging.
This is also why sagging quickly returns even after correcting it with thread lifting. In contrast, the temple area is closely attached to the skull. That is why it is an area with less sagging of the skin tissue compared to other regions.
If this area is incised, pulled, and then sutured, the corrective effect is improved, and you can expect a lifting effect that lasts longer.

The second reason is that the surgical area is hidden by hair.
I think people considering a facelift are somewhat concerned about scarring. This is why an incision around the temple is recommended as a way to compensate for this drawback.
If a very small incision is made in the temple area, the surgical site is hidden by hair, so it does not significantly interfere with daily life after surgery.
However, there is one thing to keep in mind. When making the incision, it must be done in an oblique direction while protecting the hair follicles. Otherwise, the follicles may be damaged, and surgical marks may remain at the incision site after surgery.
At Reborn Plastic Surgery, we take these details into account and make incisions while protecting the hair follicles. As a result, hair can grow over the surgical site later and cover the marks, allowing you to expect a natural-looking result.
If you have the following concerns, you may want to consider the Three-Step Temple Lift.
○ You are worried that deep nasolabial folds make you look older.
○ Sagging skin above the nasolabial folds makes your face look broader and older overall.
○ You are concerned about a sagging jawline or double chin.
○ The results of thread lifting alone are not enough to give you satisfying results.
○ A standard facelift feels too burdensome.
○ You are concerned that your cheekbones appear more prominent after thread lifting.
The Three-Step Temple Lift performed at our clinic can be thought of as a method similar to the mini facelift you may already know. However, there are a few differences: a more natural lift through hair follicle protection, and the ability to expect more satisfying results when combined with thread lifting.
Of course, depending on each person’s degree of sagging and concerns, we only recommend surgery when it is appropriate, and in addition to the Three-Step Temple Lift, we also perform various anti-aging procedures such as traditional facelifts, thread lifting, and laser lifting, so we can create a suitable surgical plan based on each person’s current situation.

At Reborn Plastic Surgery, we have accumulated know-how over 20 years of performing numerous facelift and lifting procedures. That means we can provide customized surgery based on each person’s current situation. ^^
If you are considering a facelift as an anti-aging procedure but are worried because of the burden of surgery, you are welcome to visit our plastic surgery clinic.
We will do our best for each and every patient to provide natural beauty.
