Facelift scars have a reason depending on the surgical method.
<SMAS facelift surgery that reduces scar concerns>
The difference in a face lift scar
comes from the surgical method and technique.
<Be free from scar concerns
with a SMAS face lift>
Midline Plastic Surgery shows you
the scars in the sideburn, in front of the ear, and behind the ear areas
after face and neck lift surgery.

Fascia (SMAS)
These days, many people are interested in looking youthful.
Also, due to concerns about sagging after facial contouring,
not only people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, but also those in their 20s and 30s
are becoming more interested in mini lifts, facelifts, and face-neck lifts.
Many people also search for information on portals.
However, when you search, the flood of lifting content on YouTube
can make it confusing to know what is truly needed.
Also, when patients consider a lift surgery,
the biggest concern is the scar.
There are only brief explanations saying that
'you can get good results while reducing scars,'
but content, photos, or advertisements that actually show
the scars behind the ear
have been hard to find.

Midline Plastic Surgery facelift
So this time, at Midline Plastic Surgery,
we prepared a chance to directly look at the healing progress of the scars
in front of and behind the ear of a patient who underwent a face-neck lift.

Nasolabial folds, mouth lines, cheek sagging
This is the front-view photo before face lift and neck lift surgery.
The preoperative consultation is
a crucial diagnostic process in which the current condition,
its cause, and the method for resolving it are all determined.
*Two years ago, the patient underwent free flap surgery for oral cancer,
so the left corner of the mouth is attached.
On the day of the facelift surgery,
the corner-of-the-mouth reconstruction surgery was performed at the same time.
You can find it in the postoperative photos.
The cheeks were significantly sagging, and as a result
the nasolabial folds and mouth lines (marionette lines) were also deep.
In addition, the deep cheek area beside the mouth was also sagging,
making the jawline heavy.
Because the patient had undergone a free flap procedure,
in which tissue was taken from the wrist and the artery and vein were connected
through the inside of the left side of the mouth,
the left side had more volume than the right.

After confirming the asymmetry through consultation,
the surgery was performed while reducing the volume of the left lower cheek further.

In addition,
during the surgery, after SMAS dissection,
the heavy sagging deep cheek was lifted and fixed,
and liposuction of the double chin fat was performed at the same time.

Fat from the double chin suctioned during the facelift
The most important difference in results, duration, and scarring
in facelift surgery is that
the SMAS (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System) was properly dissected,
the retaining ligaments were cut, and lifting was performed.

Front view before/after facelift surgery
Through the facelift surgery,
you can see improvement in the nasolabial folds and marionette lines
from the front.
In addition, the jawline became smoother.

From the side, you can see the more refined cheek and jawline,
and you can also check the scar.
I will show you the scar behind the ear for the neck lift below.

Before/after facelift surgery, right side view
The effect after surgery is also visible
in the double chin line.
In reality, the face also became much smaller.^^

From the opposite side view as well,
you can see the lighter deep cheek
and the jawline.

Before/after facelift surgery, left side view
After surgery, along with the jowls,
the sagging neck skin under the jaw was tightened,
creating a sharp jawline.
Finally, the long-awaited
postoperative mark from lift surgery, which is the biggest concern for patients,
the progress of the scar behind the ear, will be shown.

This is a photo of the scar behind the right ear after the facelift.
You can see a pink line running from behind the right ear down along the hairline.
It is marked with a purple dashed arrow.
This is a one-month post-op photo, so there is still some redness.

This is a photo of the scar behind the left ear after the facelift.
Again, a pink line running down along the hairline behind the left ear
can be seen.
It is marked with a purple dashed arrow,
and the previous surgical scar from cancer treatment
is marked with a fluorescent green dashed line.
The color of the scar will gradually fade like this.
Why does SMAS lifting have different scars?
If you ask that,
when a facelift is done by pulling the skin instead of the SMAS,
the scar behind the ear becomes thicker and wider.
And pointed earlobes can also occur.
The area behind the ear is also one that is hard to see
unless the hair is cut very short.
However, Midline Plastic Surgery aims for even these less visible areas
to be finished well without problems.
This is so that men with short hair who are considering a facelift, or
women with short hair or tied-up hair,
do not have to worry about scars.
"The result of surgery is determined in places that cannot be seen."
