20s–30s forehead lift effect
Improving eyelid sagging and correcting eye asymmetry too! Solving both at once.
The effects of an endoscopic forehead lift
to people in their 20s and 30s.
Correcting not only drooping eyelids
but also eye asymmetry!
This is Dr. Kim Jun-hyun from Midline Plastic Surgery.
Everyone has some degree of asymmetry.
If that asymmetry is not noticeable at first glance,
it is not considered within the realm of asymmetry.
Symmetry in our faces is described as
an absence of asymmetry.

This is an explanation of the effects of a forehead lift,
and you may be wondering how it can correct asymmetry (uneven eyes)
rather than just eyelid drooping or wrinkles.
^^
In this post, rather than wrinkles,
I want to help people in their 20s and 30s who are considering a forehead lift
for changes around the eyes.
A young woman visited the clinic with concerns about a stuffy-looking eye shape and asymmetry.
I will explain this case, where we improved the heavy-looking eyelids
for a more refreshed eye shape
while also correcting the asymmetry in eye size (uneven eyes).

These are the eyes before surgery.
In my view, the eyes before the forehead lift were also attractive,
but the patient said that the double eyelids were hidden,
making the eyes feel stuffy, and I could not deny that.
In women in their 20s and 30s, as shown above,
a hidden double eyelid line can make the line height feel unsatisfactory,
and many come in for consultation about eye surgery or revision eye surgery
because they feel there is a lot of fat on the upper eyelid.
However, in a case like the one above,
if we make the eyes (the line) larger (higher) with double eyelids,
the already not-so-wide space between the eyes and eyebrows
would inevitably become even narrower,
so we planned a forehead lift.
The distance between the eyes and eyebrows
strongly affects the overall image
and also influences the height of the double eyelid.
Please refer to the photos below of different age groups before forehead lift.

For people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s alike,
the impression can look stronger,
or give a more stuffy feeling.

The patient also said that the difference in size between the right and left eyes was a concern,
so we decided to improve the asymmetry
through correction of uneven eyes.
However, when correcting uneven eyes with a forehead lift,
I explained that in the process of pulling the right side more,
the eyebrow could appear slightly higher,
and the double eyelid could also look larger.
And I explained that among the causes of asymmetry, the difference in the double eyelids
might later require slightly raising the left double eyelid
to make them look more similar.
With consent, we also proceeded with eye size correction.
The surgical result (effect) that will be maintained going forward
appears only after about one and a half months.
Immediately after surgery, even if the right eyebrow looks higher,
after about a month and a half it will settle down slightly as swelling subsides.
The patient understood the preoperative explanation well
and waited.
^^

This is the result two months after surgery.
As expected, the difference in eye size from the uneven eyes became similar,
and the stuffy feeling was relieved.
One week earlier, the patient also had additional front cheek fat grafting at our clinic,
so there is a slight bruise visible on the left cheek.
The left double eyelid no longer seemed to need to be made any higher.

A case of improving hidden double eyelids and uneven eyes with a forehead lift
A stuffy eye shape caused by heavy upper eyelids and eyelid sagging
was improved through a forehead lift,
and the difference in size between the two eyes (uneven eyes)
was also corrected.
Many people think that forehead lift is a surgery only for middle-aged or older people
because the word "lift" is included in the procedure name.
However, besides wrinkles,
- When the eyes and eyebrows are too close together, making the eyes look stuffy
- When you want to change the image around the eyes
- When eye surgery alone has limitations
forehead lift can be a necessary procedure
for people in their 20s and 30s as well.

Forehead lift review
Many people also worry about and are curious about the recovery process
after a forehead lift.
Recently, a patient who had a forehead lift along with epicanthoplasty
left a detailed review, so I’m attaching it for reference.
^^
(Since this is a review from the patient’s own experience,
it may be very helpful.)
Because the text was long and the screenshot text became small,
I am writing it out below once more.
This is the actual review from a forehead lift patient.
What I liked
When I was researching surgery, I got a lot of help from Gangnam Unni, so I’m leaving a review!! I hope my review will also help those who are considering surgery. 😁
(The reason I decided to have surgery)
I had eye surgery 10 years ago, but over time my eyelids sagged and covered the double eyelid line! I was stressed every time I looked in the mirror, so I went to consultations for double eyelid surgery and rhinoplasty~! But after about 10 consultations, they either told me that even if I had double eyelid surgery, it would be the same again within 2–3 years, or they recommended brow lift surgery! When I got home, I asked Gangnam Unni and Barbie members, and searched endlesslyㅠ ㅠ...... Many people mentioned forehead lift...... But I also heard that it is rarely done on people under 40....... 🥲🥲🥲 I worried a lotㅜ ㅜ Then I decided to at least go for a consultation!! So I made a new list and started visiting clinics again!
(Choosing the hospital)
I went to consultations at a total of 7 places, and all of them said that in my case, forehead lift would be the best option! And hearing that younger people are doing it these days too made me feel relieved~~! so I decided to have the surgery!! But I have a hard time deciding.........ㅜ 3ㅜ After narrowing it down, I was torn between Midline and a large hospital out of the 7 places~~ The director at Midline contacted me first! I asked everything I had been worrying about on my own!! Then I went to the clinic’s YouTube channel and replayed Dr. Kim Jun-hyun’s hand-suturing video over and over~~ 🧐🧐🧐 Only after seeing that did I feel confident enough to decide to have surgery at Midline. (Ah! Midline also has an anesthesiology specialist on site!! For those who are considering it, please 참고하세요!😁) (On the day of surgery)
I live outside the city, so I booked a morning surgery slot! I left early in the morning and arrived at 11:00. After washing up, changing clothes, taking photos, meeting the doctor, signing consent forms, and so on, I went into the operating room around 12:00! From that point on, I started getting really nervous!!ㅜ ㅜ Since I had decided to have forehead lift and epicanthoplasty together, they marked the epicanthoplasty design in the operating room~~ The doctor said it might sting a little~~ and that he would design it so it wouldn’t hurt~~ So~~ so~~ sweet!! > -<👍👍 (Before, I had gotten a somewhat cold impression~~ but he is really kind!! And handsome too!!👍👍) After that, I was anesthetized and passed out right away~~! What I remember after that is... I remember walking down the hallway to the recovery room! In the recovery room, I lay down and took photos first (what was I thinkingㅋㅋㅋ)! When I touched my forehead, I had absolutely no sensation.... I had been told this in advance, so I wasn’t surprised, but the swollen forehead was totally my style, and I honestly wished the swelling wouldn’t go away!! After resting for a while, the doctor came and told me to open my eyes wide!! and said the surgery had gone well, which made me feel relieved and grateful! When he left the recovery room, he even dimmed the lights before leaving..... So~~ so~~ sweet!! > -<👍👍 (I even wondered, why did I think the doctor was cold? Because he is so kind!👍👍) But as time went on that day, I started feeling nauseous and dizzy, and I just couldn’t go home! (I had to take a bus for 2 hours and 30 minutes to get homeㅜㅜ) When I asked the director, she also told me about nearby lodging (everyone is really kind! If you’re from out of town and it’s too hard to go home that day, I think using the nearby hotel “Soulhada” would be a good option! It’s clean and nice😁😁) I left the hospital, and from that point on... the surgery... I started regretting itㅜ ㅜ I had been told that if you vomit, you use your face muscles, which can make swelling or bruising worse, so I tried my best to hold it in... hold it in... but I couldn’t!! Absolutely couldn’t!! I vomited until I bled at the epicanthoplasty area...... Sigh...... I even thought, what if I can’t go home because of this tomorrow, and tried to sleep...... but I felt nauseous and couldn’t sleep properly! Not everyone experiences this, so please just take it as a reference~~
(Days 2–4)
When I woke up on the second day, my stomach felt so much better than the day before! (That doesn’t mean I wasn’t still nauseous, but it was manageable!) On the second day, I went back to the hospital to check the progress and have the blood drain removed.... By then I was feeling better than the day before, but having the blood drain removed was worrying again.... Sigh... Right, I’m a scaredy-cat..... Before it was removed, I asked if it would hurt, and when they said I might feel a strange sensation, I got even more nervousㅜ ㅜ The removal was over in under 10 seconds.... but... sigh.... it hurts.... it does hurt.... When it was removed from the right side, the sensation felt like it was on the left side... It seemed like the drain line extended somewhere over there too..... (I guess that’s the strange sensation they meant) The pain was only on the right side where the tube came out! And then I received laser treatment to help with swelling management (If you live near the hospital, they said you can come more often, so please ask about it! It does help more if you get it!) On day 3, sensation started returning in the middle of my forehead~ It felt like the thickness of a single thin ballpoint pen (0.4 width, across the entire forehead height). On day 4, the swelling and bruising were at their worst! My whole face was puffed up, and the bruises spread beyond both eyes down to my cheekbones! It was at a level that could be covered with makeup.... but the bruises weren’t fading easily, so I bought bruise cream and applied it!
(One week later - the day the stitches were removed)
From before, sensation had gradually started returning to my scalp and forehead..... so I started getting scared againㅜ ㅜ There were stitches in my scalp, but I could also see that they had been clipped with medical staples......... Before the stitches were removed, I wished the sensation would stop returning! On the day of removal.... I asked whether it would hurt....(Not a routine thing... I was just scaredㅋㅋㅋ) They said the epicanthoplasty area might sting a little! But... the forehead area didn’t hurt at all, and in the area where sensation had returned near the temples, there was a slight sting during removal! The epicanthoplasty area......... not just sting....... it was like STIIIIIIING!!!!!!ㅜ ㅜ It hurt! After that, they gave me laser treatment again! It’s been two weeks since the surgery! I still need more time to recover, but so far the advantages I’ve felt are that it has become easier to open my eyes, the severe glabella area has improved a lot, and my eyes look refreshed, so I’m satisfied for now!! The reason I’m leaving such a detailed review is because when I was considering surgery, Midline had fewer reviews than other clinics, so I worried a lot... I wrote this in detail in hopes that it will help even a little for those who are now deciding.
Thank you for the warm review,
and with careful treatment and kind service,
my entire staff and I will always keep working hard
to make sure you are satisfied with your postoperative progress.
