A double chin and a chin line that looks hidden
are concerns many people have.
A double chin can develop because of excess fat,
or it can happen because the lower jaw is small.
So even if there is no fat, it can also appear after surgery that reduces the lower jaw.
Genioplasty with advancement is a surgery that creates a chin for people who lack one
and gives definition to a flat chin-to-neck angle,
so we actively recommend it to patients who come to our hospital with a recessed chin.
On the other hand, chin reduction surgery is the opposite procedure,
and we perform it only for those with a strong complex about a protruding chin.
That is because a double chin that did not exist before may appear, and the jawline may look hidden.

This case is of a patient who had the plate at the chin removed after chin reduction surgery.
Because the chin was protruding, we reduced its width and set it back through a T osteotomy.
Since chin reduction surgery makes the lower face smaller,
we explained in advance that there could be leftover skin and tissue under the chin.

With the protruding chin concern resolved,
the patient was pleased.
However, I could see sagging between the chin-to-neck angle and the chin.
To improve this post-contouring sagging,
we performed “Mid-Up Lifting 2040,” which removes accumulated fat.

The areas that needed improvement before surgery were
marked with fluorescent green arrows,
and the areas that improved after Mid-Up Lifting were
marked with fluorescent purple arrows.
Let’s look at the other side as well.

The double chin and skin sagging that appeared after contouring surgery
were improved with Mid-Up Lifting 2040.
Therefore, I am attaching the post-surgery X-ray.

When patients are satisfied and express their thanks,
I feel rewarded as a plastic surgeon. ^-^
