Hello, I’m Dr. Kim Junhyeon from Midline Plastic Surgery.
Among the things that can happen with a forehead lift,
many people worry about hair loss.
I’d like to explain how the hair changes in the area where the incision is made after surgery.
These are the same patient from the previous post.
I’ve brought back photos of the patient who also had filler treatment to smooth out the deep forehead wrinkles during the forehead lift.
This photo was taken 14 days after surgery.

Incisions are made at two sites along the hairline and one site at each temple.
As you can see, there is less hair loss than expected.
This is a photo taken one and a half months after surgery.

It looks like there is a gap in the hair at the incision site compared to day 14.
But there is no need to worry. You’ll understand if you look at the photos from 6 months later.
This is a photo taken 6 months after surgery.

Hair has grown back in the area that looked sparse at 1.5 months.
At a glance, it is difficult to tell where the incision was made.
When consulting about a forehead lift or brow bone reduction, people who have seen posts about hair loss often ask whether their hair will end up like that after surgery.
I do not say that hair loss will absolutely never happen just because I am the one performing the surgery.
I tell patients that there can be hair loss at the incision site for up to 3 months after surgery,
and that most of it recovers over the following 3 to 6 months.
It gets even better after 6 months to 1 year.
However, if there is an area that still bothers you after more than 6 months,
I take care to make it less noticeable, so there is no need to worry too much about hair loss at the surgical site.
