Hello, this is Director Kim Jun-hyun.^^
Since I explained the anatomical details of the upper eyelid in an earlier post, I’d recommend referring to that first.

Let’s go straight into a case.
This patient visited us with a concern about hollowness above the eyes.

They said the left eye was more sunken, and that it looked even more hollow in the evening, making them look tired.

Micro fat grafting to the upper eyelids would be needed, right?
When performing upper eyelid fat grafting at our clinic, we use a thinner cannula than we do for regular fat grafting.
This is the cannula used for regular fat grafting and the cannula used for micro fat grafting to the upper eyelids.

Comparison of a regular cannula and a micro fat grafting cannula
The diameter of the micro fat grafting cannula is smaller.
And here is the difference in the fat that comes out through those cannulas.

Left: micro fat grafting cannula, right: regular fat grafting cannula
You can see that the fat comes out in finer, smaller particles than with the regular cannula.
Because this is an area where such small particles need to be placed in detail,
the graft has to be distributed evenly to avoid looking lumpy.
That’s how much skill the surgeon needs~^^
These are the photos three months after the upper eyelid fat grafting.

The upper eyelid has a better retention rate than other areas.
For that reason, this is an area where you must never overcorrect.
Fat grafting is easy to put in, but very difficult to remove.

As the hollowness above the eyes was filled in, the tired look disappeared.
You can see that it improved well without looking lumpy or excessive.
For those who feel stressed by eyes that make them look tired like this,
please feel free to visit our clinic, and we will let you know how we can help.

and we will kindly guide you. Thank you. ^->
