Since COVID started, I stopped going to the movie theater. It may have been because of COVID, but also because OTT platforms let you enjoy a wide variety of films, but Emergency Declaration is the kind of movie that makes you feel like you have to go to the theater just for the cast combination.
I was thankfully able to attend the screening of Emergency Declaration, so I enjoyed a nice outing to the movie theater.
All of the lead actors came out for a stage greeting. Honestly, just hearing the actors’ names makes it a movie I’m extremely excited about.

The stage greeting started before the movie, and I recorded a short video.
I’ll let you hear a little of actor Park Hae-joon’s voice. Since Emergency Declaration was released on August 3, 2022, I don’t think anyone has actually seen the movie yet.
Everyone has their own way of watching movies. Some people don’t mind watching even if they already know the plot and ending, but for people like me, who lose interest if they know too much in advance, I’ll skip the story details boldly.
I’ll just say that you can see a perfect combination of actors with not a single weak link in the cast.
After a long time, since I thought eating something delicious after a movie outing would make me feel even better, I went to Makssul-ihoe 30000, a hot spot that every office worker in Samseong-dong seems to know.
As you can tell from the restaurant name, it’s a sashimi restaurant. And because the number 30000 is attached to the name, I wondered if that was the price, and it had a slight food-stall vibe, so I thought maybe that was why it became a hot place for office workers. But once you actually visit, it feels more like an izakaya than a food stall, so I think people who drink would like it.

When you order a menu item, grilled flounder is served as a complimentary dish, as you’d expect from a sashimi restaurant. The grilled flounder, served as a free item, wasn’t salty and had a savory flavor, so I kept reaching for it.
And you can see rice on the side. That rice wasn’t meant to be eaten with the flounder, but was prepared as sushi rice so you can make your own sushi. Of course, there’s also sushi rice placed next to the sashimi.

You might think, from the name Makssul-ihoe, that they just sell roughly cut sashimi, but that’s not the case. It’s an assorted aged sashimi platter made with seasonal fish.
At Makssul-ihoe 30000, the sashimi comes in medium (2 servings) and large (3 servings).
I liked that the sashimi was cut thick, too. If it’s too thin, there’s no satisfying bite.
Because it’s aged sashimi, there was no odor and it was pleasantly chewy and delicious. It was good just eaten as sashimi, but it was also delicious when topped onto rice and made into sushi. If I had only eaten the sashimi, I probably wouldn’t have felt full, but eating it together with carbohydrates definitely made it satisfying.

Seeing the name Makssul-ihoe 30000, I initially thought they might have sold the medium sashimi for 30,000 won. Still, for 45,000 won, this level of quality and quantity doesn’t seem bad at all.
Makssul-ihoe 30000, a Samseong-dong office-worker hot spot I think I’ll visit whenever I’m in the mood for aged sashimi
