Curry is one of those foods that, strangely enough, you don’t think about until it suddenly pops into your head. So when I want curry, I usually visit Abiko near Apgujeong Station. But the weather suddenly got cold, and I started thinking it was too dangerous to go out from the hospital. So I wanted to have it delivered.
Curry seems simple, but it also feels like one of those foods that’s harder than expected to make taste just right. While looking for a curry spot where the flavor is rich yet easy to eat, I came across Karewa!!
Actually, I had eaten here once before, and it was pretty good. Back then, I chose croquette as a topping, but there wasn’t nearly enough croquette to go with the main dish. So I didn’t think about this place again, but I remembered the curry was tasty, so I ordered again. This time, I went with the pork cutlet curry, which seemed like a safe choice.
At Karewa, a delivery favorite for curry, you can choose the spiciness level. If you choose level 2, it should taste like the curry flavor most of us know.

When ordering delivery from Karewa, a curry spot known for good food, be sure to ask for green onions and garlic flakes. Otherwise, they won’t come with the order. Karewa’s curry seems to be simmered for a long time, so there are no solid ingredients in the curry itself. If you don’t add the chopped green onions and garlic flakes, the curry can feel a bit plain in texture, and it can really only work as a sauce for the toppings. The chopped green onions and garlic flakes don’t cost extra.

Even though it’s pork cutlet curry, you might think the portion of pork cutlet would be small, but the cutlet is really huge!! It’s big enough to cover the rice and then some, so you’ll feel very full after eating. They also include three side dishes that go well with curry: cucumber pickle, pickled radish, and diced radish kimchi.
They’re the basic side dishes you’d get at a Japanese restaurant, but they really do go well with curry and pork cutlet.

The pork cutlet is thick too, right!? I could see why this place is called a delivery favorite. Of course, you can go there and eat in person, but for someone like me who wants to comfortably order delivery for lunch or dinner at home, Karewa seems to be not only great for curry but also great for pork cutlet. The breading is nicely crisp, so the moment you bite into it, you can feel the crunch.

But the moment you dip it in the curry and eat it, the crispness fades a little. That said, it doesn’t disappear completely. Even when you coat it generously with curry like this, there’s so much curry that it’s still more than enough while you eat the rice and pork cutlet.

I chose the proper topping this time at Karewa, a delivery favorite for curry, so I really enjoyed it. I ordered delivery because I didn’t want to go out in the cold, and it ended up being a completely successful lunch break, which put me in a good mood to start the afternoon. And then I found myself thinking about how delicious something I should eat for dinner would have to be.
