중학생/ 고등학생 쌍수 하기 전 꼭 보고 가야 합니다!!
Hello.
This is again EH어나는 아이호 Plastic Surgery.
Among plastic surgeries, double eyelid surgery is one that people can easily come across nearby. Because of that, the age group getting double eyelid surgery has become much younger.
Not only high school students, but middle school students are also visiting our clinic to get double eyelid surgery.
We would like to take some time to explain a few things that middle school and high school students should definitely remember and discuss before getting double eyelid surgery.
Does your child, who is in middle or high school,
want plastic surgery?

(My high school son) doesn’t really say much, so I don’t know whether he has any thoughts about plastic surgery or not, and (my middle school daughter) says she doesn’t have a double eyelid and wants one!!

These days, many students undergo eye surgery in the third year of middle school before going to high school, and you may be curious about what the director thinks about middle school students getting double eyelid surgery. First, since I am a parent with a middle school daughter, and she says she wants double eyelids, let me explain what I think.

Eye surgery for middle school students is not something I strongly recommend.
However, if they fall into certain cases where it can be done, we proceed with surgery.

-
When double eyelid tape or double eyelid glue has been used
-
When eyelashes are poking the eyes
-
When the person is struggling mentally
If double eyelid tape or double eyelid glue is used continuously, the skin will inevitably sag or get damaged. As the skin keeps stretching and getting worse, we perform surgery to prevent that. We also perform surgery in cases where a child is mentally struggling after being criticized about their appearance by friends.

In the case of middle and high school students, many prefer a flashy eye appearance.

They are very interested in appearance, and as they are exposed to beautiful celebrities through the media, they come to identify themselves with them and want to change in that direction as well, so they hope to transform into bigger, more defined eyes.

Many people want an overly dramatic look that does not suit the proportions of their face shape or facial features. If a doctor simply follows the patient’s request for a double eyelid surgery design chosen to create an attractive look, even when it does not suit the patient, there is no choice but to end up with an unwanted eye shape.

Since I am in the position of raising a daughter, I end up nagging in cases like this. The reason is unavoidable: as an eye specialist who has handled many revision surgery cases, I have seen through experience that people often regret it later, so I find myself nagging.

If it does not fall into the categories mentioned earlier, I recommend doing it in the second or third year of high school rather than at a very young age, such as middle school.
That is because it seems that when done in a slightly more mentally mature state, people understand that it should be attempted as a natural change.

I’ve heard that there are doctors who cannot operate on their own family members.
What about the director?

Simple procedures seem like they could be done, but to keep a calm mind, it is better not to do them if possible!!

But even if parents can stay composed and do it, it feels a little different when it comes to my daughter, so I think it would be better if I did not.
In fact, I personally did my nieces’ eyes and noses for them.

How far can you allow your child’s plastic surgery to go?

Naturally!!
If they become prettier in a way that looks like their original, natural appearance, that would be fine.
If they change in a way that anyone can see is pretty and likable, then it may be worth considering!!

If surgery changes something and it changes beautifully, then it is okay to do it. No matter what surgery it is!!
But if surgery has no effect and does not suit them, there would be no need to go through with it!!

Is there a surgery that absolutely should not be done?

Rather than saying there is a surgery that absolutely should not be done, for middle school students, we usually do not perform canthoplasty.

In most cases, we proceed with double eyelid surgery without an epicanthoplasty, but if the inner corner is covered too much and we determine that it would be better to do it, we may perform an epicanthoplasty. Otherwise, we tell them to consider epicanthoplasty later.
