When we talk, we look into each other’s eyes
and read and exchange emotions.
Also, when we feel sad, angry, or happy,
we can tell those emotions just by looking at the eye area,
so the eyes serve as an important nonverbal communication element.
Because of this, when aging occurs around the eyes
and affects one’s appearance, it can feel negative,
so many people hope to improve it.
The upper and lower blepharoplasty I’ll introduce today
is a representative eye-slimming surgery that makes the eye area look refreshed
and more defined, which can be helpful.
What is the difference between these two surgeries,
and what effects can they provide?

First, upper blepharoplasty is performed when the eyelids become heavy
as fat accumulates in the eyelids,
causing the outer corners of the eyes to sag and creating a tired-looking impression.
Through this surgery, sagging eyelids and eye-area wrinkles
can be addressed at the same time.
When the eyelids are heavy and the strength needed to open the eyes becomes weaker,
you tend to use the forehead muscles to open them,
which can deepen forehead wrinkles as well.
In such cases, among upper and lower blepharoplasty,
upper blepharoplasty can improve heavy eyelids
while also helping prevent forehead wrinkles.

In eye-slimming surgery, upper blepharoplasty requires careful design
of how the incision will be made according to the degree of eyelid sagging,
and how much skin and fat should be removed.
The surgery is performed by making a delicate incision along the designed line,
pulling up the stretched muscle, and then suturing with fine thread.
Through this, you can achieve clearer, more defined eyes
and even feel as if your field of vision has opened up.

Next, among upper and lower blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty
is a surgery that can remove under-eye wrinkles or fat
to create a smoother under-eye area.
When the muscles around the eyes sag due to aging, the under-eye area becomes puffy
and looks shadowed, giving the impression of always looking tired.
In addition, because it makes you look older,
lower blepharoplasty, an eye-slimming procedure,
can be considered to improve your appearance.

Lower blepharoplasty involves delicately designing the under-eye area,
making an incision, removing or repositioning fat,
and then fixing the orbicularis oculi muscle under the eye to the periosteum.
As the puffy fat layer under the eyes becomes flatter,
a smooth and refreshed under-eye area is completed.

Among upper and lower blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty makes the incision
close to the conjunctiva on the inner side of the eye,
so the scar is covered by the eyelashes, minimizing concern about scarring.
Also, not only middle-aged people, but even those in their 20s and 30s
who are troubled because they look older than their age
can consider improving their image through eye-slimming surgery!
