Garnet Plastic Surgery Representative Director's
Doctor's Note

Hello^^ I’m Baek In-soo, a board-certified plastic surgeon and the representative director of Garnet Plastic Surgery.
Today, I’d like to share the case of a woman in her 30s who had double eyelid surgery with the buried suture method in her 20s!

She said the double eyelid line had become smaller over time after the previous buried suture procedure, and she came to see us because she wanted to correct the sharp-looking eyes that had been a complex for a long time.
Reason for Surgery

In consultations at other clinics, she was recommended only lateral and lower canthoplasty rather than double eyelid surgery.
Asian eyes tend to have an inclined shape, and the outer corners are often upturned.
If you want to improve this, it is important to choose the appropriate surgical method carefully.
Preoperative Diagnosis

In the preoperative photos, the right eye has a double eyelid, but it is covered and looks like a hidden double eyelid, while the left eye is well maintained, so the eyes appear asymmetrical. There is a feeling that the eyes are drawn apart, and they lack a bright, open appearance.

In fact, this type of patient has sufficient eyelid-opening strength, so it would not necessarily be said that eye correction is required. However, for a rounder eye shape, a subtle adjustment is needed, including eye correction. In particular, the inner area needs to be improved well in order to create a round eye shape.
It is also necessary to lower the raised angle at the outer part of the eye.
Surgical Process

The surgery was performed using the incision method for double eyelids, and a small amount of excess covered skin was removed.
Eye correction was performed delicately, focusing mainly on the inner side, to create a rounder eye shape. Lateral and lower canthoplasty was also performed to make the eyes look rounder and more open. The main procedures were eye correction and incision double eyelid surgery, while the canthoplasty procedures played a supplementary role.
Postoperative Progress

After surgery, the double eyelids became more visible without feeling covered, and the left-right asymmetry was improved. The outer corners of the eyes also became more open thanks to the canthoplasty, and the outer corners were lowered naturally without being overdone, giving the patient the round, kind eye shape she wanted.
The drawn-apart or cramped feeling disappeared, and the overall impression became brighter. I remember that after surgery, she was satisfied because she obtained the eye shape she had wanted.
In Closing...

Today, we looked at eye correction for improving sharp-looking eyes.
Many people with this type of eye tend to consider canthoplasty first when consulting. Of course, canthoplasty can also be important, but for a more open and fundamental solution, please be sure to consider incision double eyelid surgery and eye correction as well.
Thank you.
