Garnet Plastic Surgery Director Baek In-soo’s
Doctor's Note

Hello^^ I’m Baek In-soo, the board-certified plastic surgeon and CEO of Garnet Plastic Surgery.
Today, I’d like to introduce the case of a woman in her late 20s who visited the clinic بسبب facial asymmetry and brow ptosis.

Reason for Surgery
Several years ago, she had double eyelid surgery, but the crease became smaller over time,
and as her brows dropped, her expression looked stronger,
and one brow, in particular, had descended more than the other, creating asymmetry that she wanted to improve.
When people hear “forehead lift,” it is generally thought of as a surgery for anti-aging purposes for people in their 40s or 50s and older,
but as aesthetic standards have become higher these days,
even people in their 20s and 30s can benefit from a forehead lift when it is needed.
Although she was in her 20s, a forehead lift was necessary in her case,
so I actively recommended it, and during the consultation she understood this well
and chose to proceed with surgery.
Preoperative Diagnosis

Her brows were generally lowered,
and facial asymmetry was also present,
with the right brow sitting lower than the left.
The distance between the eyes and brows was short, making the eyelids look thick,
which gave her a stronger impression.
Surgical Method
In general, endoscopy is used for forehead lift surgery,
and the procedure is performed in a similar way,
but in cases with asymmetry, it is important to choose a surgical method that allows adjustment of the fixation strength at the fixation site.

The Endotine fixation method used in a standard forehead lift
uses only two fixation points, so it has disadvantages when it comes to shaping the brows or correcting asymmetric brows.
The Pentafix forehead lift performed for this patient
used two Endotine fixations in addition to
a bone tunneling fixation method and a fascia fixation method
in combination, which made it possible to improve fixation strength.
This surgical method is advantageous for improving brow asymmetry and brow shape.
Postoperative Progress

With the Pentafix forehead lift, the brow asymmetry improved,
and the overall facial asymmetry also got better.
The heaviness of the eyelids and the strong impression were also improved,
and even though no separate eye surgery was performed,
the sagging skin that had been covering the eyelids was removed,
so the double eyelids looked more refreshed.
To wrap up...

Today, we looked at a case in which brow asymmetry and a sagging brow
were corrected using the Pentafix forehead lift surgical method.
Even at a young age, there are often cases where a forehead lift is needed,
so please keep this in mind.
Thank you. ^^
