From Director Baek In-su of Garnet Plastic Surgery
Doctor's Note

Hello! I am Baek In-su, a board-certified plastic surgeon and the director of Garnet Plastic Surgery.
Today’s case is that of a woman in her 20s who visited the clinic to create under-eye aegyo-sal.

She was also concerned about the dark circles under her eyes and hoped to create aegyo-sal, and said that she had been recommended aegyo filler during consultations at several clinics.
Preoperative Diagnosis

A representative method for creating aegyo-sal is the aegyo filler procedure, and because it is easy and simple, many people undergo it without much hesitation.
However, because the skin under the eyes is thin, if a transparent filler is injected, it can appear bluish due to the Tyndall effect.
Also, after more than 6 months, filler tends to break down and spread downward.

Surgical Procedure

The procedure involves harvesting a very small amount of fat from the abdomen or thigh,
separating only pure microfat, and then delicately grafting it to the under-eye aegyo-sal area.
Postoperative Course

After surgery, the under-eye aegyo-sal was improved to a natural skin tone without appearing bluish or translucent.
In addition, to keep the under-eye area clean,
we also performed lower eyelid fat repositioning on the area with dark circles,
which allowed for an even cleaner aegyo-sal shape.
The grafted fat becomes established, so it lasts semi-permanently and maintains its shape without loosening.
In Closing..

If you are considering filler or fat grafting to create aegyo-sal,
please refer to today’s case and consider creating aegyo-sal through microfat grafting rather than filler.
Thank you.
