Hello! I’m Baek In-su, the director of Garnet Plastic Surgery and a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Today, I’d like to introduce the case of a woman in her mid-40s who visited us because of eyebrow asymmetry, along with forehead and glabellar wrinkles.

She said that since childhood, she had a habit of raising only one eyebrow, and as a result, her right eyebrow was lifted to one side and wrinkles had also formed more prominently on the right side of her forehead.

She also tended to frown a lot, so she had many wrinkles between the eyebrows.

She had tried to correct the asymmetry through eyebrow semi-permanent makeup procedures, but there was too much awkwardness, so she gave up and came to Garnet Plastic Surgery.

Preoperative Diagnosis

The right eyebrow is raised and the left eyebrow is lowered.

There are signs that she previously tried to correct the asymmetry with a semi-permanent procedure.

Due to continuous movement of the forehead muscles,

wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows were becoming deeper.

Surgical Method

The PentaFix Forehead Lift is designed for the area to be lifted,

and five incision openings of about 1–2 cm are made inside the hairline.

After inserting an endoscope through the incision sites and dissecting up to the eyebrows,

the dissected skin is pulled and fixed in the desired position using the PentaFix fixation method.

The PentaFix Forehead Lift is performed through five small incisions inside the scalp.

Because dissection is done using an endoscope,

the surgery can be performed safely and quickly without damaging nerves or blood vessels.

This surgical method has the advantage of very fast recovery.

In addition, the PentaFix Forehead Lift uses a combination of fixation with two Endotine devices,

along with the bone tunneling fixation method and

the fascia fixation method,

to improve fixation strength.

Because it is fixed at five points, it is a surgical method that is advantageous for improving eyebrow asymmetry and eyebrow shape.

With the conventional Endotine fixation method, it is difficult to precisely correct eyebrow asymmetry.

Postoperative Progress

> 10 days after surgery

On day 10 after surgery, the scalp stitches were removed,

and recovery appears very fast with almost no swelling.

The eyebrow asymmetry improved, and the overall facial asymmetry also got better.

In addition, the forehead wrinkles were smoothed out and the glabellar wrinkles were also reduced.

> 3 months after surgery

The progress has remained stable even 3 months after surgery.

With the PentaFix fixation method, the postoperative results

are expected to be well maintained.
