Hello, this is Dana Plastic Surgery, "Sewn as Planted."
Even with a simple surgery, pain after the procedure is an unavoidable symptom.
Also, post-surgical pain can last anywhere from one day to several weeks, so anyone preparing for surgery is likely to worry about it at least once.
In this post, we will look at how long pain lasts after incision-based hair transplant surgery.
First, to find out how long pain lasts, we need to check the pain scale.
The figure below is the Wong-Baker Faces Scale, which shows pain with numbers and faces.

Wong-Baker Faces Scale
Level 0: No pain at all
Level 1: Very slight pain
Level 2: Mild pain
Level 3: Some pain
Level 4: Severe pain
Level 5: The worst possible pain

Up to level 2 on the pain scale above is pain that most people can generally tolerate without much trouble.
So how long does pain last after incision-based hair transplant surgery? If we look at the figure below,

On the first day after surgery, the average is usually around 2.02 (based on Dana Plastic Surgery data).
Since around 2 is a level of pain that can be tolerated without much trouble, we can see that there is not much pain even on the first day after surgery.
Then on day 2 it drops to 1.47 (very slight pain), on day 3 it falls below level 1 to 0.91,
on day 4 it is 0.56, on day 5 it is 0.35, and after one week it is 0.21, showing a pain level that is practically difficult to feel.
After incision-based hair transplant surgery, there may be some slight pain on the first day, and after 2 to 3 days it is difficult to feel pain.
We looked into pain after hair transplant surgery, but because the pain is so mild, it is difficult to say exactly, "It hurts this much!" so I explained it with numbers.
If you have been hesitating because of pain after surgery, it may be worth thinking about it again!
