Hello.
This is Dana Plastic Surgery.
If you have had a hair transplant surgery, there are several important things, such as choosing the hospital before surgery and selecting the surgical method.
In addition, post-surgery care is very important for hair transplant surgery.

Today, we will look together with Dr. Park Jae-hyun of Dana Plastic Surgery at what should be avoided and what should be kept in mind after hair transplant surgery.
First of all, one thing you should know beforehand is that hair transplant surgery is not a procedure that simply implants hair.
Hair is only the visible result, and it is a complex tissue transplantation procedure that transplants not only the hair but also the hair roots and the tissues around the hair follicles,
transplanting multiple tissues all at once.
Because hair transplantation is not simply a matter of transplanting hair,
but of transplanting complex tissue, it is very important that these complex tissues take well after being transplanted.

The period that affects this graft take after hair transplantation is about 2 to 4 days,
and during this period, you must absolutely not overdo it.
Also, to be a little safer,
it is better to be careful until about 7 to 8 days, when graft take is completed.
Also, if the surgery was performed using the strip method,
it is better not to overexert yourself until the stitches are removed.
The timing for removing stitches after strip surgery varies by hospital, but they are usually removed on day 10.
After the stitches are removed, light exercise is fine,
and a light workout such as a slightly fast treadmill walk is recommended.
If you are still a little uneasy, it is also okay to start after 2 weeks.
From 3 weeks after hair transplant surgery, various exercises are acceptable,
but exercises in which your head may hit something (for example, boxing, jiu-jitsu, or martial arts)
should absolutely not be done.
It is better to avoid steam rooms or saunas, sweating in hot places, swimming, and similar activities for about 3 weeks.
After 3 weeks, you may freely resume daily activities you did before surgery,
such as drinking alcohol, smoking, dyeing your hair, or perming it.
To summarize,
from 3 days, when the follicles begin to take, up to a maximum of 8 days,
absolute caution is required, and you should rest.
After that, starting from day 10, light exercise such as a slightly fast treadmill walk or power walking is fine.
Intense exercise, dyeing, perming, and similar activities
If you do them freely after 3 weeks, the follicles will be able to take without much strain.
Today, we looked at
what to avoid and what to be careful about after hair transplantation,
and learned that hair transplantation is important both before and during surgery, but post-surgery care is also very important because it can affect graft take.
During the graft-taking period, please take the best possible care
so that you can achieve better surgical results,
and we hope you choose a hospital that has a well-established post-surgery care system.
