Checklist of Precautions After Hair Transplant Surgery Is Completed

If you have undergone hair transplant surgery, 

there will be things to keep in mind after the procedure.

Today, together with Director Park Jae-hyun,

we will take a look at the checklist of precautions to follow after hair transplant surgery is completed.

1. Do not touch the transplanted area, and contact the hospital if there is bleeding

After hair transplant surgery, 

you should not touch the transplanted area.

Also, it is possible to go home after surgery, and hospitalization is also possible.

At Dana Plastic Surgery, if you let us know in advance,

you can use the inpatient room.

 

When wearing a hat,

it is better to choose one that can be adjusted loosely,

and wear it two or three notches looser than usual,

so that it fits larger than normal.

And sometimes,

if clotted blood comes out or bleeding occurs,

especially in non-incision procedures that do not involve sutures,

bleeding may occur as the vasoconstrictor wears off after surgery.

It is not a major problem,

but proper care is needed,

so please make sure to contact the hospital. 

 

2. Sleep on your back, not face down, with a towel laid on a soft pillow

After hair transplant surgery, 

it is better not to sleep face down. 

 

Do not use hard pillows at all

(such as wooden pillows or stone pillows),

and instead place two or more towels

on a soft cotton pillow or something similar,

 

then you can sleep lying on your back. 

However,

if the transplant was done on the side,

it is best to avoid sleeping on your side.

The medicine you were taking can be resumed immediately after surgery.

 

3. Cold compresses are not recommended, but if you do use them, avoid the transplanted area

At Dana Plastic Surgery,

we do not specifically recommend cold compresses.

 

Even if you apply cold compresses yourself,

placing ice or an ice pack on the transplanted area

may actually cause vasoconstriction,

so it may not be good,

so please be careful.
