Checklist of precautions for Days 1–3 after hair transplant surgery 

 

Hello. 

This is Dana Plastic Surgery.

Today, we will take a look at 

the checklist of precautions for Days 1–3 after hair transplant surgery

with Director Park Jae-hyeon. 

 

1. If you experience any discomfort after surgery, please contact the hospital

If you have slept through the first night after surgery,

those who had an incision method may

have experienced more pain than those who had a non-incision method.

If, in addition to pain, you are experiencing any other discomfort,

please contact the hospital right away. 

 

2. Days 1–3 are the most important period for graft survival

From Day 1 to Day 3, 

this is the most important period for graft survival.

In other words, the 72 hours are a time when you should not overdo anything

and should be especially careful.

During this time, you should refrain from drinking and smoking,

and excessive work / strenuous exercise

must absolutely be avoided. 

 

However, ordinary daily activities are all possible.

Please take the medication prescribed by the hospital as directed,

and these medications basically include

pain relievers, anti-inflammatory medication, and antibiotics that help prevent infection.

After taking the prescribed medication, 

symptoms such as stomach irritation or hives may

occur very rarely.

In such cases,

please contact the hospital.

3. Visit the hospital the next day after surgery for progress check and care

Unless you have personal circumstances after surgery or 

need to urgently go down to the provinces,

most patients should visit the hospital

the day after surgery

to receive 1:1 personalized care.
