Checklist of Things to Watch Out for on Days 3 to 9 After Hair Transplant Surgery

Today, together with Director Park Jae-hyun,

we will look at the checklist of things to watch out for on days 3 to 9 after hair transplant surgery.

1. Days 7 to 8 after surgery are an important period when graft survival is completed 

The golden time that determines hair transplant survival  has passed after 3 days.  However, 

The period during which the transplanted follicles complete graft survival

is considered to be up to days 7 to 8. 

Until then, this is a period that requires relatively careful attention.

2. Strenuous activity, alcohol and smoking, and removing scabs are all prohibited!

On days 3 to 9 after hair transplant surgery, 

it is best to avoid starting exercise,  and it is also best to abstain from alcohol and smoking.

Scabs that form on the transplanted area or donor area

should never  be removed on your own, and you should not forcefully pick them off or tear them away.

If necessary,

after 10 days from surgery,  soak them with lukewarm water and remove them.

Or

it is best to contact the hospital.

3. Check the shampooing and disinfection methods by period and by area after surgery 

When shampooing, 

it is best to avoid the transplanted area

Starting from days 8 to 9,

you can lightly apply only foam to the transplanted area  and gently rinse it in a way that only lightly washes away the transplanted hairs. 

Starting from day 10,

begin a light fingertip shampoo.

Applying disinfectant to the donor area 

for the non-incision method,

until day 7,

and for the incision method,

until day 10, when the stitches are removed,

it is best to perform self-disinfection.
