Hello, this is Dana Plastic Surgery.
Today, among the many questions people ask before scalp micropigmentation, we’ll take a moment to answer:
Can you still get scalp micropigmentation if you have seborrheic scalp dermatitis?

Seborrheic scalp dermatitis is a condition that can appear periodically when immunity is lowered or when it is not properly managed, and if it becomes severe, it can negatively affect scalp health. So, if you have seborrheic scalp dermatitis, is it still okay to proceed with scalp micropigmentation?

To put it simply, scalp micropigmentation is possible even if you have seborrheic scalp dermatitis.
However, when seborrheic scalp dermatitis is present, the scalp is in a fairly inflamed state.

Inflammation generally involves several factors, including redness, swelling, and warmth.
In cases of seborrheic scalp dermatitis, there is a significant amount of fluid on the scalp. That is why even a small amount of contact can often cause oozing.

So if tattooing is done while seborrheic scalp dermatitis is present, the pigment may not appear clearly
and it often seems to spread more broadly around the area.

It is possible to get tattooing even when seborrheic scalp dermatitis is present, but I think it would be better to proceed while also treating the seborrheic scalp dermatitis.
