First, the transplant is performed.

Then comes days 1 to 3 immediately after the transplant.

This is the period that has the greatest impact on graft survival after a hair transplant,

so it is also a time when you need to be especially careful.

So it is best to avoid touching the surgical area as much as possible and to minimize stimulation.

During this period, it is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise or heavy workloads.

Next is 2 to 3 weeks after the hair transplant.

From this point on, you can shampoo as you did before the surgery, and you can think of it as being released from the post-op precautions.

As early as within one week, the transplanted hairs may start to shed.

Although it varies from person to person, there are also people who do not experience the so-called dark period.

Hair growth differs by individual, so don’t be anxious—just wait calmly.

Next is one month after the hair transplant surgery.

At one month, about 70 to 80% of the transplanted hairs will shed.

This is the period when patients are most surprised.

You may think, ‘I went through so much effort to get these implanted—why are they falling out so much?’

But this varies depending on each person’s characteristics.

Some people shed sooner, while others may have almost no shedding even after a month.

This is absolutely not because the surgery went wrong; it is a natural process before the hair begins to grow,

so there is no need to be overly alarmed.

Next is 2 to 3 months after the hair transplant surgery.

At this stage, it is literally the dark period, and you can think of it as a time when the shed hairs are taking a break.

When hair is transplanted into an area where there was no hair, it creates a major change for the scalp.

That is why the transplanted hairs definitely need a period to settle down and adapt.

You can think of this as an essential period for the hair to go through this process and stabilize.

As time passes and you reach the 3 to 4 month mark, the shed hairs will gradually begin to grow again from this point,

and the transplanted hairs will steadily increase.

At this time, you should definitely visit the clinic for a mid-term checkup.

Some people may put off the follow-up because it’s inconvenient or skip it altogether, but it is very important to visit and have the medical staff perform a mid-term check to see whether the transplanted hairs are settling in well.

At 5 to 6 months after the hair transplant, this is the period when the number of transplanted hairs increases the most.

By the 6-month mark, the outline begins to appear, and the transplanted hairs that have settled in well are now becoming your real hair.

Finally, this is 7 to 12 months after the hair transplant surgery.

This is the period when the transplanted hairs increase dramatically.

Although it varies from person to person, some people continue to see new transplanted hairs grow even after one year.
