Hello 😊 This is Dana Plastic Surgery.
Today, we’ll take some time to look at what alternatives are available when there isn’t enough hair available to harvest from the back of the head during a large-scale transplant.

Among people whose hair can be seen through completely from the front,
there are many who want a large-scale transplant.

If the scalp is visible like in the photo above,
it often requires at least 3,000 follicles and sometimes as many as 6,000 follicles.

In large-scale transplants, the number of follicles that can usually be harvested at once from the back of the head is
3,000 to 4,000 follicles.

If more than 3,000 to 4,000 follicles are needed but the donor area is small,
there are methods such as splitting the transplant into a first and second procedure, or using body hair such as beard or chest hair for the transplant.\

However, in cases like body-hair transplantation,
it is first necessary to determine whether the body hair is suitable to be used as scalp hair.
That is why Dana Plastic Surgery proceeds with transplantation after making a judgment through a detailed examination.

If there is almost no beard hair, only the hair from the back can be used,
so even if hair is needed from the front all the way to the back,
the amount that can be harvested is limited,
and it is not possible to fill all the areas that need a large-scale transplant.

In such cases, we will have sufficient consultation with the patient and look at photos from various cases
to find the most suitable extent for the patient and proceed with the transplant.
If there is no front hairline at all and the area is empty, many people usually pull hair from the sides, part it, and cover the crown,
but without needing to do that, if enough transplantation is done at the very top area,
it is possible to create enough coverage to part the hair and even sweep it back.
The back crown area can later be supplemented through body-hair transplantation or scalp micropigmentation 😊

Even when a large-scale transplant is needed but the donor area is insufficient,
we proceed with surgery while thinking of creating the hair in the front frontal area.

So if you think you may need a large-scale transplant
but are worried because you seem to have little donor hair,
it would be a good idea to visit Dana Plastic Surgery and receive a solution.
Today, we took some time to look at what alternatives are available when there isn’t enough hair to harvest from the back of the head during a large-scale transplant.
The transplant method differs depending on each person’s hair condition and density.
If you are worried because you think you may not have much donor hair,
it is best to first visit the clinic, receive a consultation and solution, and then proceed with the transplant using the method that is just right for you 😊
