Hello, this is Dana Plastic Surgery.
Today, we’ll take some time to look at how anesthesia is done during scalp tattooing!

Q. For scalp tattooing, how is anesthesia done?
With scalp tattooing, anesthesia is rarely used.

99 out of 100 people do not need anesthesia.
Because the pain of scalp tattooing is about the level of a mosquito bite,
it generally does not require much anesthesia.

However, since each person’s skin, personality, and sensitivity are different,
sometimes additional anesthesia is needed.

So when you come to the clinic, it can be handled safely and hygienically,
which is why I think it is better to have scalp tattooing done at a clinic.
Then, in the rare case that anesthesia is needed,
how is it done?

The first method is using anesthetic cream.
However, if anesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area, it can create variables when the ink is injected,
so it is not a preferred method.

The second method is local anesthesia.
If local anesthesia is administered to the crown of the head, there is a needle inserted there,
so the tattoo ink can spread.
Therefore, if anesthesia that blocks the nerves is used, there are no needles in the treatment area,
making it a safe form of anesthesia.

In some cases, for people who are extremely sensitive to pain, the procedure is done under sedation anesthesia.
With scalp tattooing, anesthesia is not usually used,
but if it is, the methods are anesthetic cream, local anesthesia, and sedation anesthesia (occasionally).
Since each person’s level of sensitivity is different,
it is best to proceed with the method that suits you well!
