Hello!
We are Dana Plastic Surgery, a hospital specializing in hair transplant surgery!
Today, I’d like to talk about hairline scalp tattoos!
Can a scalp tattoo on the hairline
look natural?

One of the things many people worry about is the hairline.
When the hairline has a severe M-shaped recession or looks sparse, it becomes something you notice every time you look in the mirror.
That is why many people look into getting a scalp tattoo on the hairline.
In fact, many people come to the clinic after getting a scalp tattoo on the hairline,
and there are often men as well, which is really unfortunate.

The hairline is
the shape of the boundary line between the face and the scalp.

Just because you draw hair texture with a tattoo on this hairline,
that does not mean it can look natural,
because hair does not stay completely still like that.
Even if you change your hairstyle,
the tattooed area remains the same,
so it can only look awkward.

Moreover, filling it in with color can look even more unnatural.
The slight see-through effect between hairs,
and the fine baby hairs that gradually become thinner like a gradient,
this kind of dimensionality and natural flow cannot be created with a scalp tattoo.

In areas where there is hair,
coverage with fine dots may be possible to some extent,

but for an M-shaped forehead or to lower a high forehead,
getting a tattoo on the hairline is not appropriate.

If you look at the photo above,
a hairline tattoo can never appear black,
and if it becomes a line or a filled-in area, it looks blue.
Then it stands out against the black hair color,
so it looks extremely unnatural, right?

So for this person, this is what it looked like after one year,
and to hide this incorrect scalp tattoo,
they had a hair transplant (hairline correction) to cover it up.

The person in the photos above also came in after getting a hairline scalp tattoo,
and we covered it all by performing a hair transplant over the tattoo.
It looks much more natural, doesn’t it?

The reason people look for hairline scalp tattoos
is often because they want to fill in the hairline quickly without surgery,
but the hairline is difficult to solve with a scalp tattoo.
In particular, because the hairline is the most noticeable area from the front,
if it looks even slightly unnatural, it can be very obvious.
A tattoo is not the right treatment for the hairline,
and hairline correction (transplantation) is the only answer!
