Hello. This is Lifton Dermatology Clinic.
One of the most common questions I get during consultations is, “My face doesn’t look its best—what should I do?”
The next most common question is, “I don’t want something that changes my appearance as drastically as surgery. Is there a way to get natural-looking results?”
In cases like these, I usually recommend ONDA lifting because it delivers fairly good results without much discomfort during the procedure.

Before giving a more detailed explanation, shall we take a look at my previous posts..?
I’ll skip the detailed explanation of the principle and briefly talk about the effects and the pros and cons compared with other devices.
As for the effects,
it reduces volume naturally and improves elasticity.
As those who have tried it know, the surface cooling is intense.
So at first, it feels very cold.
But after just a little while, warmth builds up and it feels hot, but not scorching... It has this deep, throbbing warmth inside.
It doesn’t quite feel unpleasant, and it’s not exactly pain either—it’s one of those hard-to-describe, ambiguous sensations.
Right after the procedure, if you touch the handpiece, it still feels very cold, but if you touch your face, it feels hot.
You can think of it as a device that delivers heat in a fairly bulky way.
Most lifting devices work on the common principle of delivering “heat,” but the methods differ. In the case of ONDA lifting, it feels like the heat is concentrated and delivered in a focused way.
Because of that, it is a somewhat tricky device that requires continuously moving the hand to spread the heat evenly.

If you look at the photo, there are two handpieces, right? One is the 7 mm handpiece, and the other is the 3 mm handpiece.
Shall we look at how it works through the images?

The illustration shows the operating principle of the 7 mm handpiece.
Microwaves reach down to the yellow fat layer, and in the case of the 3 mm handpiece, they reach up to the upper part of the fat layer.
Simply put,
7 mm is effective for reducing fat and improving deeper elasticity,
3 mm is effective for improving superficial elasticity.
If you look at the fact that there are two handpieces and the effects of each, there is a device that feels quite similar, right?
Yes, that’s InMode.

It had a huge boom several years ago, and now many people continue to receive it regularly, making it almost a staple device. (Much like Rejuran has continued to be loved as a skin booster...)
InMode also has two handpieces, mini Fx and Forma, and the effects are similar to each ONDA handpiece.
The difference is the principle: the way it delivers “heat.”
Because the principle is different, I’ll talk in detail next time about what differences it shows in treatment results...

For reference, as shown in the photos, people whose fat is concentrated in the cheek area and have a round jawline, or people with a fuller area above the nasolabial folds, generally see better results.
