Hello. This is Refton Dermatology.
In my previous post, I explained that when receiving a lifting procedure, simply having it done as strongly as possible is not always the best approach.
To summarize again, our medical team’s role in skin procedures is to deliver the appropriate amount of “heat.” Because the location and depth at which this heat acts vary, proper placement is necessary. If it is too strong, side effects may become a concern, so customized treatment tailored to each individual is needed.
Today, I will explain the terms related to the intensity and total energy that patients actually receive.
For example, after Thermage treatment, the total energy is usually indicated in ~kJ.
Likewise, when receiving Titanium, most clinics explain it by indicating KJ. You can also find many review posts online saying they received several KJ.

But oddly enough, Onda is expressed in tens of thousands of joules. As you probably already know, 10,000 J = 10 kJ = 1万 J. Therefore, 60,000 J = 60 kJ.
How much total energy
is appropriate?
Taking Titanium as an example, it is usually performed at 80 kJ for a full face treatment. That is why many clinics display pricing information for 80 kJ.
Recently, there are also cases where more than 100 kJ is administered in a single session.
However, since Titanium has both stack mode and SHR mode, it is better to check which mode is used and how many kJ are applied in that mode. If you want lifting but only had SHR mode, that may feel disappointing.
Then, how much total energy is appropriate for Onda lifting?
I will show you photos of the energy levels typically used.

When energy is set to 80 or 100 with a 7 mm tip, the time for settings of 40,000 J, 60,000 J, and 100,000 J is shown below.
But since Onda lifting also comes in a 7 mm tip and a 3 mm tip, isn’t it important to know how many kJ were delivered with which mm tip...?
It would be undesirable if, for example, someone wanted to reduce buccal fat or a double chin but ended up receiving treatment with only the 3 mm tip for the full 10 minutes. It would be like doing only InMode Forma on the buccal fat area..
I will explain this part in more detail in the next post.
