Lifton Dermatology Holds an In-House Seminar on APTOS Thread Lifting

Recently, Lifton Dermatology held an in-house seminar on APTOS biolifting as its theme.

The reason we introduced APTOS biolifting

APTOS, which has recently begun launching in Korea,

is a procedure that goes beyond the concept of conventional simple thread lifting and reflects the concept of biolifting, which considers both a structure that physically supports the tissue and skin regeneration.

The threads used in APTOS are composed of a structure combining PLLA, PCL, and HA,

and are characterized by being designed not only for lifting effects but also for collagen regeneration, improved elasticity, and recovery of skin condition.

At Lifton Dermatology, before APTOS was officially launched in Korea, I personally participated in the APTOS global seminar held in Tbilisi, Georgia, where I was able to confirm the actual clinical results and application methods.

By participating directly in the global seminar, I determined that APTOS thread lifting is not simply a new thread, but a biolifting concept that considers both tissue support structures and biological responses, and that it has practical significance in clinical care. For that reason, we introduced it relatively quickly.

The reason for holding an in-house seminar on APTOS biolifting

Before beginning the procedure in earnest, this in-house seminar was prepared to share the content I had organized through the global seminar with our medical team and to once again organize a common understanding and standards for APTOS biolifting.

APTOS is not simply a 'procedure that inserts threads.'

Because the results can vary greatly depending on which layer it is applied to, in which direction, and with what design, I believed it was important to first align our internal standards.

Structural features of APTOS biolifting

In this seminar, we organized the overall structure of APTOS thread lifting, the way the threads are fixed to the tissue,

and the mechanism by which the pulling force is transmitted.

APTOS threads combine

PLLA, which induces collagen production, PCL, which provides structural support,

and HA, which helps replenish moisture and radiance.

This structure does not simply end with pulling the skin. Over time, it induces tissue response and regeneration as well, leading to the concept of biolifting, which can improve skin hydration and elasticity by restoring moisture and volume.

In addition, because it does not clump locally like a filler,

the ingredients act by dispersing along the thread, which is one of the characteristics of APTOS thread lifting in that it can relatively reduce the burden of nodules.

APTOS threads also use a special diagonal cutting method, in which they are cut at an oblique angle,

providing excellent fixation and maintaining thread strength, which also lengthens the duration of the lifting effect.

Checking the application through actual APTOS biolifting procedures

After organizing the theoretical content, we once again reviewed the application method of APTOS thread lifting through actual procedures.

We organized the content according to real clinical situations, focusing on the insertion depth of the threads, the key points where they are fixed to the tissue,

the method of adjusting the pulling strength, and the precautions that should be taken during the procedure.

The reason for choosing APTOS biolifting

The results of lifting procedures begin with the selection of the device or material.

We judged that APTOS threads are valuable for clinical use because their design considers both tissue support structures and biological responses, allowing the direction and force transmission of the lift to be controlled more stably.

However, even with the same APTOS thread lifting, the same method cannot be applied to every face.

Only when the medical team’s judgment regarding facial shape, skin thickness, degree of elasticity, the cause and direction of sagging, and the extent of intervention is applied together can the advantages of APTOS biolifting lead to results.

This in-house seminar was a time for our medical team to once again organize the standards for how APTOS biolifting should be applied in actual clinical care.

At Lifton Dermatology, we continuously continue the process of organizing and sharing each person’s experience and know-how through regular in-house seminars, in order to increase the safety of procedures and the consistency of results.

I believe that through these accumulated processes,

a clinical environment can be created in which results are delivered with consistent standards regardless of who performs the procedure, rather than being limited to specific cases.

Going forward, Lifton Dermatology will continue internal organization and sharing centered on procedures that are actually being applied in clinical care, including APTOS biolifting, so that we can respond to our patients with more stable procedural results.
