Hello, this is LIFTON Dermatology.
When treating patients, one thing that feels just as important as clinical experience is academic exchange among medical professionals.
This is because sharing real-world clinical experience with one another and exchanging different perspectives ultimately leads to better treatment outcomes.
Recently, LIFTON Dermatology had the opportunity to give a lecture on Ultherapy Prime at the Merz Cheongdam headquarters,
and we would like to briefly share that story through our official blog.

Ultherapy Prime lecture held at the Merz Cheongdam headquarters

The Ultherapy Prime lecture by LIFTON Dermatology was held at the Merz Cheongdam headquarters.
In this lecture, a wide range of topics was covered, from where Ultherapy currently stands in the lifting market
to various clinical approaches based on actual treatment experience.
Rather than understanding only the characteristics of the device, it is much more important to think about which patient it should be applied to and in what way.
The lecture continued with explanations of the indications and contraindications for Ultherapy treatment, as well as basic treatment design by age group,
and also included explanations of various cases based on actual clinical photos.

Ultherapy treatment design and clinical approach by age group

Even if it is the same Ultherapy treatment, the approach itself differs depending on whether the goal is maintaining firmness in the 20s and 30s or improving sagging after the 40s.
The lecture shared real clinical experience on such age-specific treatment design,
and also explained how energy delivery methods or treatment points can vary depending on the patient’s skin condition.
In addition, the lecture also covered Combination Treatment, which has recently been emphasized as important in lifting treatments.
In actual patients, skin conditions often involve not only sagging but also multiple factors at the same time, such as volume loss, changes in skin texture, and fine wrinkles, so rather than a single treatment, a strategic approach to how multiple treatments should be combined is needed.
The lecture shared practical experience on how to use Ultherapy within such combination treatment strategies.
Ultherapy Treatment’s Future and Clinical Considerations

In the second part of the lecture, there was also discussion about the future of Ultherapy treatment.
Although Ultherapy is a device that has already been used for a long time,
in actual clinical practice, there are also concerns arising from fixed ideas about treatment timing and frequency, as well as the gap between expected results and reality.
There was also discussion of various factors encountered in clinical settings, such as issues related to shallow dents and areas that are difficult to treat due to the characteristics of the device.

In particular, interesting opinions were shared regarding the clinical approach to and potential use of the 1.5 mm tip, which is considered relatively limited in use in Ultherapy treatment.
The Q&A Session After the Lecture

After the lecture, we had a Q&A session with Merz employees, where we exchanged various questions and opinions about Ultherapy Prime treatment.
We believe that this kind of process, where real clinical experience and the perspective of the company developing the device are exchanged together, is a very meaningful part of the medical field.

Based on our extensive treatment experience, LIFTON Dermatology will continue consistent academic exchange and research,
and we will do our best to provide patients with safer and more effective lifting treatments.
Thank you.
