• Pseudoptosis and true ptosis

Pseudoptosis: Sagging eyelid skin covers the eyeball, making the eyes look smaller

True ptosis: The muscle that opens the eyes (the levator muscle) is weakened, making it difficult to open the eyes widely

Pseudoptosis can be corrected by simply removing the skin through the incision method, but true ptosis requires muscle-strengthening surgery as well. Therefore, an accurate diagnosis is essential.

5. The Importance of Double Eyelid Height and Design

The height of the double eyelid line has a major impact on the result. For example, raising a 6 mm line to 7 mm and designing a 7 mm line from the beginning can lead to different levels of satisfaction. For men, the standard design is 5–6 mm, and care is needed because a line that is excessively low may make revision surgery difficult.
