Hello.
This is An Byung Joon Plastic Surgery.
Eyelid surgery,
especially for those considering double eyelid surgery,
has a wide range of goals.
There is the aesthetic purpose,
commonly called “ssuksu,”
but the reasons men actually
visit the clinic are a bit different.
As people get older, sagging eyelid skin
or ptosis, in which the muscle that opens the eyes becomes weaker,
often makes the face look stuffy and tired.

Women often think of aesthetic improvement
in terms of the line,
but men generally
hope to improve their impression and relieve discomfort
through eyes that look more open and clearer.
Ptosis refers to a condition in which,
when opening the eyes,
a person uses the forehead excessively,
or more than one-third of the pupil is covered, giving a sleepy appearance.
A large difference in eye size between both sides,
or a heavy eyelid that causes one eye to open later,
also falls into this category.
In such cases, simply creating a double eyelid line
does not solve the problem.
To create a more open and clear eye appearance,
a procedure to correct the eye opening must be performed together while removing sagging skin.
However, the part men worry about most is
whether removing skin will make it hard to close the eyes,
or whether eye-opening correction will make the eyes appear unnaturally large.
In fact, the surgeon’s experience and
delicacy during the procedure are very important,
so it is key to accurately
check your eye condition during the pre-surgery consultation
and find the right method.

Double eyelid surgery is
not simply a procedure that creates a double line.
It is a process of resolving the structure and issues of your own eyes
while creating a natural and balanced line.
Especially for men, an overly pronounced line is less suitable,
while results that look naturally clearer are a better fit,
so it is important to plan the surgery in a direction that can lead to comments such as,
“It doesn’t look obvious, but your impression looks better.”

A word from the plastic surgery specialist!
“Eyelid surgery is not simply a procedure to make the eyes bigger.
For men in particular, naturalness is the key.
Sagging eyelid skin or ptosis is
not just a cosmetic issue,
but is also connected to field of vision and daily convenience.
What matters most is an accurate diagnosis and
a customized plan suited to your eye condition, and through this,
you can achieve safe and satisfying results.”
