When looking in the mirror, many people worry that their eyes look small or that they give a tired impression.

In many cases, the cause is not simply the double eyelid, but ptosis, where the muscle that opens the eyes is weak.

In such cases, double eyelid surgery alone will not produce the desired change.

A solution is needed that carefully understands the structure of the eyes and adjusts the strength of the eye opening.

Why eyes look small and tired starts with muscle strength

There are many reasons women consider eye correction.

Most of them are because their eyes look small, people tell them they look sleepy, or makeup does not seem to bring out the eyes.

However, in actual consultations, this impression is often not caused by the double eyelid line.

In many cases, the muscle that lifts the eyelid, the levator palpebrae superioris, is weak, so the forehead and eyebrows are used to help open the eyes.

When this habit is repeated, forehead wrinkles deepen, facial expressions look stiff, and it leads to a tired impression.

Ptosis correction is a surgery designed to improve exactly this problem.

It is a process of adjusting the position and strength of the muscle so the eyes can open comfortably on their own.

Through this process, the pupils become more visible, and unnecessary tension from using the eyebrows is reduced.

Female eye correction is designed with naturalness as the focus

Female eye correction is not a surgery that mechanically makes the eyes bigger.

Because women’s faces are more delicate and have softer curves than men’s, overly strong correction or a very high fold line can instead create an artificial impression.

Therefore, while restoring the strength of the muscles that open the eyes, it is desirable to design the double eyelid line to match the atmosphere of the patient’s face and the proportions of their features.

For example, it is necessary to carefully examine whether the eyelids are thick and have a lot of fat, or whether the condition is mild with little sagging skin but weak muscle strength.

What is important here is the degree of correction.

If pulled too strongly, it becomes unnatural, and if corrected too lightly, the effect is insufficient, so the elasticity and strength of the muscles are carefully checked and adjusted in fine detail.

This kind of precision determines how natural the result will be.

Changes after surgery: the look in the eyes changes

After correcting female eye shape and ptosis together, many patients say, “My eyes feel more refreshed.”

Along with the size of the eyes, what is also important is the comfort of the expression.

Even those who previously opened their eyes by unconsciously straining their eyebrows can now open their eyes naturally without much tension.

Right after surgery, there may be some swelling and tightness, but usually after about a week, the stitches are removed and daily life can be resumed.

By weeks 2 to 3, the expression becomes natural, and after a month, the eyes take on a clear look that suits the person’s original impression.

At this stage, the goal is naturalness that takes facial balance into account.

After surgery, it is better to hear people say, “You look prettier somehow,” rather than, “It’s obvious you had surgery.”

Improving the impression while also restoring function

Female eye correction may seem like an aesthetic procedure, but in reality, it also has significant functional meaning.

When the eyes open more comfortably, the field of vision widens and eye fatigue decreases.

In addition, the expression becomes softer, which also gives the face a brighter impression.
