[Seongsu Restaurant] A Hidden Gem in Seongsu-dong

Hidden restaurants are

appearing one by one

throughout the alleys of Seongsu-dong,

and today I’m bringing you an honest review of

Cumulus, a sandwich restaurant in Seongsu-dong.

Cumulus is located in Seongsu-dong,

near Seongwon Middle School,

and since there isn’t a particularly noticeable sign,

you need to look carefully.

Whenever I passed by, I always wondered

what kind of place it was.

It almost looked like a gallery ~

After looking it up, I found out it was a famous restaurant!

The interior is fairly small.

There is one large table in the center

and tables along the walls as well.

I visited around 1 p.m. on a weekday,

and most people had finished eating

and left, so it was quiet.

They brought us water,

and a small, cute menu.

That day, only the truffle hot sauce roasted chicken,

pulled pork, roasted beef sandwich, and cheese salad

were available to order.

I was curious about the tomato chicken soup,

but unfortunately it was sold out.

There is also a wine and drink menu.

The address and business hours are listed as well.

Behind the counter is the cooking area.

The staff were very friendly.

Roast beef sandwich (10,000 won)

The size was a bit surprising,

but I calmly gave it a try.

Pulled pork sandwich (10,000 won)

Same size.

The pulled pork was a warm sandwich.

It was pressed flat on a panini grill,

with a crispy outside and a slightly

spicy taste on the inside.

The roast beef was mild

and simple in flavor. The tender meat and

cheese went well together.

The tomato, olive, and celery pickles

served on the side were also impressive.

The space next to it turned out to be

an exhibition area.

The exhibitions change each time,

and it seems like a place you can browse while waiting

for your food or after finishing your meal.

Overall, the atmosphere felt elegant,

and the sandwiches were not the kind

you usually come across, so it left an impression.

I’ll have to come back once more

to try the tomato soup I missed.
