[Gwangju, Gyeonggi Dining] A Traditional Korean Restaurant Near Seoul

Koreans know that a hearty meal is everything! Isn't that right?

To regain my appetite after the heat, I went out to have a traditional Korean meal near Seoul.

Breathing in the fresh air and enjoying delicious food made both body and mind feel refreshed, which was great.

Here is my review of the traditional Korean restaurant in Gwangju, Gyeonggi, 'Heuktodamgol'

Let's get started right away?

After work, I went from Gangnam to Gwangju, Gyeonggi, and it took about an hour and a half.

Maybe because it's summer, it's still bright, right?

Listening to the quiet scenery and the birdsong already makes me feel calm.

It feels elegant even from the outside! I like the well-kept garden.

There is also a small pond in one corner of Heuktodamgol.

It definitely has that green, refreshing feel

This is what the inside of Heuktodamgol looks like.

The calm, clean interior is impressive, created by renovating a hanok.

There were several private rooms as well, and since it was a weekday evening, there weren't many customers.

The seating was divided into floor seating and table seating, and the floor seating was in private rooms, while the table seating let you look out at the scenery.

The menu included traditional Korean meals and individual dishes.

We took a seat at a table with a view of the outside and ordered two servings of No. 1 Toadamgol Set Meal.

Basic setting. Since it is a traditional Korean meal, the table is quite large.

It isn't served like a course meal; instead, all the dishes are served at once.

A generous spread!

It came with stew, pan-fried dishes, meat dishes, an assortment of side dishes, and marinated crab.

Overall, the flavors were clean and simple. Personally, I enjoyed the tofu jeon and zucchini jeon.

Freshly cooked rice served in a stone pot, with nurungji being a must.

We even finished off every bit of the boiling nurungji.

A quick shot on the way out. The inside is quite spacious, so it seems good for group gatherings as well.

It also looks like a nice place for a weekend outing and a filling meal with family.
