[Namyangju Restaurant] Namyangju Korean Set Meal, Honest Review of Kimsatgat Babjip

Last time I went here to eat a Korean set meal,

they said they close after 6 p.m.,

so I couldn’t eat there. This time,

I visited during the day.

Here is my honest review of Kimsatgat Babjip in Namyangju, which is famous for its Korean set meals. Shall we get started right now?

On a weekday in August when it was pouring rain,

even though I arrived during late lunchtime,

about 5 groups were waiting.

The entrance is very green.

There is a notice for social distancing and hand sanitizer at the entrance.

For waiting, you had to line up in front of the door no matter what.

I don’t even expect them to have an app, but I do think they could at least introduce a system where you write your name on a list and get a call later.

Since I had to wait about 15 minutes even on a weekday before entering,

I wonder how it would be on a weekend..

Changing seats and changing the menu are not allowed.

Please keep that in mind when ordering.

It really gives off a countryside house atmosphere.

Maybe because it was raining, it felt even more atmospheric.

We ordered two servings of the barley rice set meal.

A barley rice set meal for two,

a table so full it looked like the legs might collapse.

The side dishes, rice, and stew are all served at once.

There were plenty of side dishes, and all the main dishes were delicious.

Last time, I had tried to come to Kimsatgat Babjip but it was closed,

so I went to the Heukttodamgol Korean restaurant instead.

Compared with Heukttodamgol,

Heukttodamgol felt like they cooked everything as soon as the order was placed,

while this place felt like the food had been prepared in large batches and then served out.

Maybe that’s because of the price difference?

Of course, it was tasty and I left feeling full.

For dessert, there was sikhye, and you could drink as much as you wanted.

It was a sikhye with a strong cinnamon aroma, so it was a good dessert.

That concludes my honest review of Kimsatgat Babjip, a good Korean set meal restaurant in Namyangju.
