[Seongsu Bar] A Great Izakaya in Seongsu-dong for Having a Drink

These days, the mornings and evenings have a pleasantly cool breeze,

and I’d like to introduce an izakaya in Seongsu-dong that’s great for having a drink with friends in a relaxed outfit.

Very Japanese vibes.

It seems the owner is a manga fan.

There were lots of manga figures all over the place.

Just looking inside, you might think, Is this Japan...?

That’s how the interior feels.

The basic appetizers were crunchy pickled radish

and crispy shrimp crackers.

The name is Akiyama.

From Exit 2 of Seongsu Station, go straight ahead,

and it is located on the first floor of IS Biz Tower.

Here is the menu.

Discount menus, recommended menus, sashimi,

skewers, fried dishes, nabemono, sides, grilled dishes,

and all sorts of Japanese-style drinking snacks are available.

There is also a variety of Japanese liquor.

They were also promoting the Mega Highball.

It seems the size is huge.

We ordered the 5-kind sashimi set and oden nabe,

and added udon noodles to the nabe.

It’s been a while, so I had a glass of Cheongha.

When we ordered sashimi,

they prepared chojang and soy sauce for us.

Since grilled skewers seem to be popular, while we were waiting

a strong charcoal aroma filled the air.

A nicely plated sashimi dish.

They also give a generous amount of radish sprouts and fresh wasabi.

The sashimi was chewy and delicious.

The salmon was just okay. It was a not-so-tasty cut haha.

I guess it was random?

A large bowl of oden nabe.

It contains various fish cakes and udon noodles.

The fish cakes were chewy and tasty too,

and I liked that they didn’t just use cheap fish cakes,

but included a variety of different kinds.

The broth was fairly spicy.

We served some into side plates and ate up.

It’s the kind of taste that makes drinks go down smoothly.

We went a little early in the evening,

so it was quiet, but by the time we were getting ready to leave,

there were quite a few customers.

A neighborhood izakaya with good value for money,

this was my honest review of Akiyama in Seongsu.

Next time, I should come back to try the grilled skewers.
