A breast of appropriate size and volume can be beautiful, but excessively large breasts can make the appearance look heavy and can cause sagging due to the weight of the breasts themselves, as well as pain in the neck, back, and shoulders, and difficulties such as under-breast eczema. Breast reduction surgery is an operation that reduces the breast size to an appropriate amount while also correcting the sagging shape in order to solve these problems.
Breast reduction surgery is more difficult and complex than breast augmentation surgery, so it is important to receive surgery from an experienced specialist who considers your body proportions, shape, and situation.

Rather than simply reducing the breasts, breast reduction surgery should take into account breast size, shape, nipple position, degree of sagging, the position of the inframammary fold, and chest wall asymmetry. Only then can satisfaction be improved in every aspect, including size, proportion, feel, and scarring.
Because the surgery is performed while directly observing the nerves and blood vessels in the breast tissue, dissection can be done more precisely, reducing damage to blood vessels and nerves. This leads to less pain and a faster return to daily life after surgery.

One of the important factors in the outcome of breast reduction surgery is scarring.
If only a small reduction is needed, the surgery can be performed leaving scars only around the areola.
However, for very large breasts that need to be reduced by a significant amount, a vertical scar running down the breast will remain.
At our clinic, this surgical method without a vertical scar can reduce concerns about scarring.
[Surgical methods by breast size]
Periareolar incision method (mild gigantomastia)
- Suitable for breasts that are not very large; shorter surgery time and smaller scars
Vertical incision method (moderate gigantomastia)
Inverted 'T' incision method (severe gigantomastia)
Vertical-scar-free incision method (severe gigantomastia)
-
Can be applied to very large breasts
-
No vertical incision scar
-
The downside is that the breast shape may be slightly flatter compared to the inverted T incision method

There are many types of breast reduction surgery, but it is recommended for those who are concerned that their breasts are too large and make them look heavy or cause discomfort when wearing clothes,
those who have health issues such as shoulder, neck, and back pain, or under-breast eczema,
and those whose breasts have sagged significantly due to pregnancy, childbirth, dieting, and so on.

In addition to JW Garden Plastic Surgery, we have begun endoscopic breast surgery and are making every effort to ensure safe surgery and beautiful results through many conference presentations and academic activities, including the spread of endoscopic surgery in Korea, activities and lectures as a stem cell researcher at Yonsei University, a zero ghost surgery policy, the presence of a specialist in anesthesiology and pain medicine, and the establishment of safety equipment.
