Hello, this is JW Garden Plastic Surgery,
a hospital that is experienced in facelift surgery!
These days, self-care is said to be essential.
Many people focus on improving their appearance
and addressing shortcomings such as complexes.
However, for those who have already begun to age,
even if they use their own self-care methods,
the improvement effect can feel extremely slow.
As sagging and wrinkles appear,
it can feel as though they are moving farther away from beauty,
so people who are feeling stressed look for a hospital that is skilled at facelift surgery.
Because the size of the incision also has a major impact
when deciding on a solution,
interest in mini facelifts has recently increased.
Today, I’ll introduce the truth about mini facelifts!

Let’s briefly summarize this content!

There are so many hospital advertisements these days.
Among them, ads for minimally invasive mini facelifts often claim
that the incision area is small, pain is minimal,
and recovery to daily life is quick.
Can a mini facelift that is promoted with these advantages
deliver the results people expect?

A mini facelift refers to a surgery performed
through a short incision.
A representative method is the MARC lift,
which involves an incision extending from the hairline
past the front of the ear (the tragus)
and down to the earlobe.

However, as this procedure is performed at many hospitals,
the method differs from hospital to hospital,
and even the definition has become increasingly varied.
It is said that there are now so many different definitions
that even board-certified plastic surgeons find them hard to remember.

First of all, there are quite a few cases
where people say they did not see any effect
from a mini facelift.
Why is that?

The duration of a lifting procedure is also very important.
The persistence of the effect is determined by the technique used
to pull and fix the SMAS layer, which is said to be a cause of skin aging.
By properly dissecting the retaining ligaments that connect the periosteum and the skin tissue,
the range in which the SMAS tissue can move must be increased.
However, a minimal incision cannot dissect these retaining ligaments!

With a minimal temporal incision,
it is in fact impossible to pull and fix the SMAS layer.
That is why the effect is limited and the durability is low.

In other words, with a temporal mini facelift
where the SMAS layer is not properly dissected,
it is hard to achieve the result you are expecting.

In fact, smoothing and fixing wrinkles
is difficult and requires advanced technical skill.
If you compare mini facelifts and full facelift solutions,
mini facelifts are much easier and simpler,
so many hospitals recommend them.

That does not mean, however, that mini facelifts
are completely ineffective.

At our hospital, JW Garden Plastic Surgery,
a mini facelift performed by board-certified plastic surgeon
Director Kang Hong-dae involves an incision from the temporal area
past behind the tragus and down to the earlobe,
followed by dissection of the SMAS layer for lifting.
If it is performed on people with little neck wrinkling and sagging cheeks,
it can provide sufficient results.

In the case of a full facelift rather than a mini facelift,
the incision from the mini facelift is extended behind the ear,
and the platysma in the neck area, which is connected to the SMAS layer of the face,
is dissected, pulled, and fixed.

A facelift can be described as a solution that improves
major facial wrinkles such as sagging cheeks and neck wrinkles,
and lifts sagging tissue.

At JW Garden Plastic Surgery,
a hospital that is experienced in facelift surgery,
we explain that a mini facelift, which ends in just 1 to 2 hours,
cannot produce proper results.
Of course, if a mini facelift is performed using a proven method,
please keep in mind that the expected results can be achieved.

If you are worried about the secret to a youthful face
or about looking older because of it,
we hope you will relieve some of that concern
with help from JW Garden Plastic Surgery,
a hospital that is experienced in facelift surgery!
