Hello, this is JW Garden Plastic Surgery,
Gangnam Plastic Surgery Clinic!
The breasts are not merely a physical difference
between men and women;
They express femininity and often bring
more confidence as a result.
For this reason, many people with a small bust
feel stressed when comparing themselves with others,
and in many cases, their self-esteem also drops.
That is why there are quite a few people considering
breast augmentation surgery, but before deciding on a solution,
scars from breast surgery can feel like a burden.
Depending on where the incision is made to insert the implant,
the extent of the incision and even the shape of the resulting scar differ.
If you have gathered a lot of information,
shall we watch the video that Director Seol Cheol-hwan of
JW Garden Plastic Surgery, Gangnam Plastic Surgery Clinic,
organized and explained for us?

Let’s briefly summarize the content!

Before breast augmentation surgery, many people consider
the type of implant, the size, and the incision site.
Among these, the incision site has a major impact on later satisfaction,
and because the recommended site differs depending on the clinic
and the medical staff, it can also lead to a lot of 고민.
What, then, is the best choice?
In any case, a careful decision is needed.

In general, the implant is inserted through an incision
made in a less visible area.
There are many different incision sites:
underarm incision, areolar incision, navel incision, and inframammary fold incision.......
Among them, the navel incision, which does not allow insertion
of cohesive gel implants that are pre-filled with gel,
is not often used these days.

Nowadays, in breast augmentation surgery,
it has become common to insert implants
with a natural feel and shape, such as cohesive silicone gel,
but the navel incision cannot be used with these implants,
and because dissection is relatively less precise,
hemostasis is difficult,
and later revision surgery is also difficult,
this method has drawbacks.

Also, the areolar incision method was often used in the past
because it leaves less noticeable scars,
allows the inside of the breast to be checked even without endoscopy
during the procedure,
and recovery tends to be relatively fast.
However, because the areolar incision method requires cutting
through the glandular tissue and milk ducts,
there is a higher possibility of bacteria contacting the implant
when it is inserted, which increases the risk of infection
and capsular contracture.
The possibility of reduced nipple sensation is also somewhat higher
than with other methods,
and it has disadvantages such as scar depression
and areolar shape distortion being difficult to correct,
so it is not commonly used these days.
Please remember that the areolar incision method is appropriate
only for selective use in special cases,
such as severely contracted breasts!

Ten years ago, the most popular method in Asia
was the underarm incision method.
This is because the skin tension in that area is lower than in other places,
which has the advantage of leaving fewer scars.

However, in the case of the traditional underarm method,
a metal instrument is used to stir and create a dissection space,
so the pain is severe, recovery is slow,
there is a lot of bleeding, and hemostasis is difficult,
while the space dissection is not precise.
The method that improves on these drawbacks is the endoscopic method.

If breast augmentation surgery is performed
with a Full HD endoscope,
there is much less pain,
recovery is faster, there is almost no bleeding,
and hemostasis is sufficiently possible.
Because the procedure is carried out while viewing the inside,
it has the advantage of allowing a more precise operation.

Sometimes, even when endoscopic breast augmentation surgery is performed,
the dissection is done with a metal dissector,
and only the bleeding is controlled with the endoscope.
However, this can hardly be considered a meaningful use of endoscopy.
Therefore, even for endoscopic breast augmentation surgery,
please remember to check carefully how the dissection is performed!

One drawback of the underarm incision method
is that it is difficult to perform highly complex revision surgery.
So if the first surgery was done through an underarm incision
and a problem occurs requiring revision surgery,
a lower fold incision or areolar incision must be added,
which is a disadvantage.

To avoid these drawbacks,
Director Seol Cheol-hwan of JW Garden Plastic Surgery,
Gangnam Plastic Surgery Clinic,
conducted research on converting the traditional underarm incision
to a method using endoscopy.
As a result, almost all types of breast revision surgery
can now be performed through endoscopy,
which has overcome the drawback of the underarm incision,
namely that revision surgery is difficult!

Next is the inframammary fold incision!
Compared with other methods, the operation time is shorter,
visibility during surgery is easier,
and it has the advantage that using the arms immediately after the procedure is a little more comfortable.

Because dissection is easier with the inframammary fold incision,
it is advantageous for correcting sagging breasts and contracted breasts.
In particular, in the case of asymmetrical breasts
where one side sags more than the other,
the asymmetry can be alleviated by using different dissection levels on each side.

The inframammary fold incision method carries a lot of prejudice about scars,
so it may feel burdensome to many people.
However, when applied to people who are unlikely to form noticeable scars,
scars are not a problem with this method.
You may find this questionable!

In most cases, people with sagging breasts or larger breasts
have weaker skin tension,
so they do not need to worry too much about scars!
On the other hand, for people who have never given birth,
the inframammary fold is barely formed,
there is not much skin laxity, and the skin is tight,
so they can be said to be unsuitable conditions
for the inframammary fold incision.

At present, the most appropriate method is to choose either the
endoscopic underarm incision method or the inframammary fold incision method.
However, it is best to decide based on the characteristics of your own breasts
and your lifestyle.

JW Garden Plastic Surgery,
Gangnam Plastic Surgery Clinic,
identifies the characteristics of each individual's tissue
and suggests a method that leaves breast surgery scars
as if they had never existed,
so that a high level of satisfaction can be achieved afterward.
Do not worry about breast surgery scars any longer,
and reduce the burden of scars through our clinic!
