Our director, Dr. Seol Cheol-hwan,

has contributed to the book on aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery

by writing about “Endoscopic Breast Augmentation via Axillary Incision,”

and we would like to share the story behind it.

The Breast Plastic Surgery Study Group is a study group under the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons that shares experience and knowledge about breast plastic surgery and reconstruction. It holds regular symposia every year to exchange the latest information and promote Korea’s distinctive techniques and know-how in breast plastic surgery.

The Breast Plastic Surgery Study Group decided to preserve the knowledge and experience accumulated through decades of academic activity in a publication, and Dr. Seol Cheol-hwan, an authority in breast surgery, wrote “Endoscopic Breast Augmentation via Axillary Incision.”

Dr. Seol Cheol-hwan included in the introduction brief information about the advantages and disadvantages of axillary endoscopic breast augmentation, along with surgical methods and his know-how.

In the main section, he covered preoperative design, endoscopic equipment, surgical methods, and considerations for endoscopic breast augmentation via axillary incision. It also includes an overview of endoscopic breast augmentation revision surgery via axillary incision, the complication rates of breast augmentation that require revision surgery, and the original surgical method developed by Dr. Seol Cheol-hwan.

Dr. Seol Cheol-hwan has carried out numerous academic activities and lectures related to breast surgery both in Korea and overseas. In particular, he has drawn attention at various academic societies by introducing his know-how in endoscopic breast surgery and clinical cases.

Our director, Dr. Seol Cheol-hwan,
