Acne Aquafill,
Why Do Reviews About Its Effectiveness Differ?

"The last time I got Aquafill,
I was so satisfied for a while,
but about a month later, it went back to the way it was before...
Does it really work?"
If you look for Aquafill reviews, you have probably seen many people split into extremes, like "the effect keeps lasting" versus "it doesn’t really work."
Setting aside satisfaction with the treatment process itself, I thought carefully about why there are so many contradictory reviews about the effect, especially regarding acne suppression.
I think it may be a misunderstanding that comes from not fully understanding the Aquafill procedure and the process of how it helps suppress acne.
So today, let’s clearly go over the exact mechanism by which Aquafill helps suppress acne, and why the effect lasts longer for some people but fades quickly for others.

What kind of procedure is Aquafill?
Aquafill is a compound word made from "Aqua" (water) + "Peel" (exfoliation). It can be described as a pore-cleansing treatment based on water.
It is a procedure that uses peeling solutions containing AHA (water-soluble) and BHA (oil-soluble) ingredients to perform chemical peeling and mechanical peeling at the same time. The process is carried out in a total of three stages.

- Stage 1 - Softening and removing dead skin cells
A rotating tip moves clockwise and gently rubs the skin surface to remove dead skin cells and aged cells.
At this time, the AHA ingredient weakens the bonds between skin cells, helping them shed naturally.
- Stage 2 - Intensive pore cleansing
Salicylic acid, a BHA ingredient, is oil-soluble, so it can penetrate well into pores filled with sebum.
It dissolves the sebum, blackheads, and whiteheads accumulated inside the pores while suctioning them out with a device.
After the treatment, you can even see the impurities that were removed from the pores in the suction container.
- Stage 3 - Moisture and nutrient supply
The procedure finishes by filling the empty pores with nourishing ingredients and moisture such as glycerin, hydra essence, and vitamins, providing both hydration and soothing effects.

Aquafill is usually known as a treatment that removes sebum and dead skin cells. In addition, many people do not know that it also has the effect of reducing Demodex mites.
Demodex mites are tiny skin mites about 0.3 mm in size that live on our skin.
Usually, having about 1 to 2 mites per follicle is within the normal range, and at that level they do not cause any particular problems.
The problem starts when sebum production increases or immunity weakens.
Demodex mites feed on sebum and dead skin cells, and when food becomes abundant, their numbers can rapidly increase to 5 per follicle, or even 10 in severe cases.

Then inflammation occurs in the follicle, and that becomes the red, swollen pimple we call "acne."
In summary, Aquafill can be described as a treatment that "cleans clogged pores" and "reduces the population of Demodex mites," creating an environment in which acne is less likely to form.

Why do reviews about its effectiveness differ?
After Aquafill, visible impurities such as blackheads are removed, and the skin feels smoother to the touch.
Even so, reviews about its longer-term effects tend to be sharply divided.
The reason is that Aquafill is a procedure that removes what has already accumulated; it is not a treatment that prevents new buildup as well.

Our skin secretes sebum every day, and dead skin cells shed on a roughly 28-day cycle.
Even if the pores are thoroughly cleaned with one treatment, it is completely natural for sebum to build up again, dead skin cells to form again, and Demodex mites to multiply again over time.
That is because after about a week, there is enough time for the sebaceous glands to become active again, for new dead skin cells to accumulate, and for the reduced number of Demodex mites to multiply again.

So, on the other hand, deciding that it is ineffective after just one treatment may be a bit of a hasty conclusion.
It is similar to cleaning your room once and then finding dust building up again after a week.
So, if you think about this mechanism, the conclusion is that you can maintain the effect consistently by regularly clearing away sebum and impurities before they build up again.

How should you care for your skin after the procedure?
There are a few things you should follow after the procedure.
Since these are all actions that can irritate the skin, you should avoid them for about a week.

After Aquafill, as dead skin cells are removed, the skin may temporarily become dry.
So apply a generous amount of moisturizer, but instead of an oily cream, use a lightweight moisturizing cream or a gel-type product.
Also, be sure to apply sunscreen carefully and protect yourself well from UV rays.
Today, we looked at the acne Aquafill procedure, which can remove sebum, dead skin cells, and Demodex mites.
We also covered why opinions about its effectiveness differ.
For acne improvement, it does not get better immediately just because you had one treatment, so the key is to change the skin environment through consistent care.
Once you start getting into that rhythm, it is good to remember that your skin can remember a better condition and maintain it for longer.
