"Because of my neck wrinkles,
a lot older."
Compared with the face, the neck is
often neglected.
Then one day, when you look in the mirror,
deep lines and
sagging skin catch your eye.
Even if you try applying cream diligently,
neck wrinkles that do not go away
can lead you to look into procedures.
For neck wrinkles, treatments are done with
fillers or collagen injectables such as Radiesse.
Among them, Radiesse does not "fill" like a filler,
but rather "stimulates" collagen production,
rebuilding the skin itself,
which is why many people are curious about it.
So today, I’d like to talk about Radiesse
in a bit more detail.
There is a paper on Radiesse treatment for neck wrinkles,
so I’ll go through it with you
and let you know how effective it is.

- How is it different from fillers?
Radiesse neck wrinkles
Let’s compare the two methods most commonly used for
improving neck wrinkles: hyaluronic acid fillers and Radiesse.
Hyaluronic acid fillers
immediately add volume and lift wrinkles,
but over time they are absorbed by the skin
and return to their original state after 6–12 months.
In particular, the neck is a part of the body
that moves all day long.
You lower your head, turn it,
and swallow thousands of times.
During this process, the filler can move out of the injected area,
slip downward or shift to one side,
and because it is absorbed faster by the skin,
the duration of effect can be shorter.

The key ingredient in Radiesse is
calcium hydroxylapatite.
This ingredient is the same substance as the natural mineral
that makes up our bones and teeth.
When Radiesse is injected into the skin,
it works in three stages.
In the first stage, CaHA microparticles
physically support sunken areas within the skin
and immediately lift sagging skin.
Then, in the second stage,
fibroblasts gather around this ingredient
and begin producing new collagen and elastin.
This process starts immediately after injection
and continues for 2–3 months,
and over time the skin
becomes thicker and firmer.
In the third stage, over about 12–18 months,
CaHA particles gradually break down
and are absorbed into the body,
but the collagen that has been produced remains,
so the effect continues.
In other words, unlike a filler that simply "fills and ends",
it is a method that stimulates your skin to
produce its own collagen.
- What does the paper show?
Radiesse neck wrinkles
Let’s look at the actual clinical paper.

In this paper,
22 women with neck wrinkles received treatment twice at
45-day intervals,
and the effect was evaluated after 120 days.

The results were clear.
Neck wrinkle improvement
86.4% improved by at least 1 grade
Neck sagging improvement
81.8% improved by at least 1 grade

What is even more important are the ultrasound results.
The thickness of the neck skin dermis
was measured before and after treatment,
Average dermal thickness
increased by 14.9% (p<0.01)
Lateral area increased by 23.0%
This is not just that it "looks better," but
a scientific sign that the skin actually became thicker
and was rebuilt.

Looking at the photos before Radiesse treatment,
45 days later, and 120 days later,
the improvement in neck wrinkles got better over time.
This is also because collagen production occurs gradually
over 2–3 months.
- What to check if there was no effect
Radiesse neck wrinkles
Sometimes there are reviews saying they received Radiesse
but did not see much effect.
In such cases, I’d like you to check the following three things.
First, was the dilution ratio correct?
If Radiesse is injected without dilution,
the volume can be excessive and look unnatural,
and if it is diluted too much, the effect may be limited.
The most effective ratio in the paper was a 1:4 dilution.

However, the dilution ratio can vary depending on the skin.
Second, were there enough treatment sessions?
In the paper, treatment was performed twice at
45-day intervals,
and this protocol was the most effective.

With only one session, collagen production
may not be sufficiently stimulated,
and repeating it twice gives cumulative effects
for more satisfying results.
If you only had one session,
please consider getting it once more.
Third, did you wait long enough?
Radiesse does not work like a filler
with immediate results.
Because collagen production happens gradually
over 2–3 months,
you need to wait at least 3 months
to properly evaluate the effect.

In the paper as well, the effect was better at 120 days
than at 45 days.
It may simply be that the effect
has not appeared yet.
Today, we looked at how much Radiesse can help with
neck wrinkle improvement through a clinical paper.
Radiesse works by stimulating collagen production
and rebuilding the skin itself.
So improving neck wrinkles takes time,
but if performed with the right protocol,
you can expect the dermis to thicken
and neck wrinkles to become less visible.
That is why I hope you can see improvement in neck wrinkles
at a place that accurately diagnoses the condition of your neck
and establishes an appropriate dilution ratio and injection plan.
