Jamsil Skin Injection NovaStem Stem Cells,
What’s Good for the Skin? <Q&A>

“People have always told me I have good skin,
but after my 30s, I feel like my skin’s elasticity
has dropped a lot.
I know I need to take care of it, but I’m worried that if I do something to my skin,
it might end up looking unnatural...”
At some point, everyone goes through a period when the way they feel about their skin changes dramatically.
Usually, this means feeling dryness even after moisturizing very well, noticing that even minor skin damage heals much more slowly, or feeling that the skin looks dull and has lost elasticity.
All of these can happen when the skin’s own ability to repair itself declines.

However, some people hesitate because they worry that skin care treatments may look unnatural or overly artificial. For those people, many choose a direction focused on regenerating skin cells through stem cell injections.
So today, we’d like to talk about “NovaStem Anti-Aging Cell Regeneration Therapy,” a care method that uses one’s own stem cells, what it is, what effects it may have, and who it may be suitable for.
I’ve written this in a Q&A format centered on the questions people ask most often, so I hope it will be helpful if you’re curious.

NovaStem Anti-Aging Cell Regeneration Therapy?
NovaStem Anti-Aging Cell Regeneration Therapy... Just hearing the name already sounds complicated, right? Let’s start by looking at what it actually is.

NovaStem extracts peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from my blood, and among them, CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells, then concentrates them at a high density and injects them back into the skin.
That still sounds a bit difficult, right? It may be easier to understand if explained like this.
-
Peripheral blood mononuclear cells: They circulate in the blood, monitor for danger, and when they are sent to an area with damaged cells, they transform into macrophages that remove the damaged cells.
-
CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells: This is the name of a protein on the cell surface, and you can think of it as a seed that grows into blood cells.
These components are extracted from my own blood and then, after a centrifugation process, injected back into the skin.
Centrifugation process (example)
And it is different from stem cell medicines that are cultured in a laboratory for several days or have external ingredients added.
NovaStem uses only cells extracted and concentrated through a minimal process from the patient’s own blood collected on the same day, so the risk of foreign-body reactions is low.

How does it work on the skin?
Then let’s look at how NovaStem acts on the skin.

First of all, injecting CD34+ cells into the skin does not mean these cells directly transform into skin cells (such as fibroblasts, collagen-producing cells, etc.).
The injected cells send regenerative signals to the surrounding tissue, and the skin’s own cells that receive those signals are activated, encouraging them to divide and recover on their own.
In other words, rather than the cells themselves changing into something else, you can think of them as serving as a signal that starts the regeneration process.
Then the skin’s own cells, having received that signal, become activated and begin regeneration.

So what benefits does it offer for the skin?
Now that we understand the principle, people also ask a lot about what benefits it may provide to the skin, so let’s go over that as well.

① Smoother skin texture and more even tone
When fibroblasts in the dermis are activated, collagen synthesis increases, which may help smooth the skin texture and make the tone more even.
In particular, people in their mid-to-late 30s and older who feel their skin’s recovery has slowed often notice the change more strongly when their skin texture is uneven or their complexion looks dull and grayish.

② Changes in fine lines and skin elasticity
As collagen and elastin are actively produced, you may see improvement in fine lines and sagging skin elasticity.
However, if wrinkles are very deep or volume loss is obvious, it may be difficult to see a major effect with this alone, and it is better to combine it with other treatments.

③ Improvement in recurring redness and troubled skin
It is also suitable for vascular redness or acne-prone skin with chronic inflammation.
When external products or basic skin care do not work well, you can try managing sensitive skin in a way that uses the inflammation-regulating mechanism of monocytes.

Because NovaStem does not use cultured cells or inject external foreign substances, but instead uses only components extracted from your own blood, you do not need to worry too much about immune reactions rising.
Today, we looked at the “NovaStem Anti-Aging Cell Regeneration Therapy,” one of the most frequently asked-about topics related to Jamsil skin injections.
To summarize, it can be seen as a method that uses the signaling ability of cells in your own blood to awaken the skin’s natural regenerative environment.
However, because the effects may vary depending on the condition of the skin and cells, it is best to get a thorough consultation before the procedure and then make your decision.
