Jamsil Laser Toning for Melasma, Spots, and Age Spots
10-Session Treatment Case
Hello.
This is U&I Clinic Jamsil Branch.
Today, we would like to introduce a treatment case of a man in his 60s who had concerns about complex pigmentation such as melasma, spots, and age spots, along with vascular dilation.
As people age, accumulated UV exposure, skin aging, and vascular changes work together, causing pigmentation to appear at various depths and in different forms.
That is why it can be difficult to cover all of these complex pigment concerns with simple toning alone, and a customized approach that takes into account the characteristics of each pigment, the skin condition, and even the patient’s lifestyle is needed.
This patient came from Japan, and because of his job, there were times when he could not receive procedures with long downtime, so the treatment had to be carried out flexibly according to his schedule.
Let’s take a look at how the treatment was actually done, along with photos.

Skin Condition Before Treatment
He said that for a long time, he had been most concerned about overall skin pigmentation and age spots.
Before the procedure (Photo date: 2025-03-21)
- Melasma and spots were unevenly distributed across the face
- Age spots were visibly present on the cheekbones and cheeks
- Along with pigmentation, redness-based vascular dilation was also present
In other words, this was a condition in which epidermal pigmentation, dermal melasma, age spots, and vascular dilation were all intertwined.
Since satisfactory results would be difficult to expect with toning alone, a program that selectively combined lasers suited to each pigment and vascular issue at each session was appropriate.
Also, because of his job, there were many days when procedures that cause scabbing and downtime were not possible, so it was necessary to alternate between downtime-free procedures and scabbing laser treatments depending on the schedule.

Treatment Plan and Lasers Used
At each session, this patient underwent a customized program in which two lasers were selected based on his skin condition and schedule.
For treatment, Derma V, PicoHi, PicoSure, Ruby Laser, and Genesis Laser were combined as appropriate.
Derma V
Derma V is a laser that can address brown pigmentation and vascular lesions at the same time, making it suitable for treating pigmentation accompanied by redness.

PicoSure (755 nm) and PicoHi are ultrashort picosecond lasers that finely break down epidermal pigmentation such as melasma and spots, reducing skin irritation while being effective for removing pigment.
Ruby Laser
The Ruby laser, with a 694 nm wavelength, responds strongly to dark, clearly defined pigmentation such as age spots. However, because the pigment is removed through scabbing, the schedule had to be checked before proceeding.
Genesis toning gently heats the skin from within, promoting collagen regeneration and helping with vascular constriction and redness relief, so it served to stabilize the skin after laser procedures.

Skin Condition After Treatment
Laser toning was carried out over a total of 10 sessions for about 10 months.
[Sessions 1–3]
In sessions 1 and 2, treatment was started gently without burdening the skin by combining Derma V, PicoHi, PicoSure, and Genesis.
In session 3, a day with downtime available was confirmed for the first time, so a Ruby laser scabbing procedure was performed, and the response for age spot treatment was good.

[Sessions 4–7]
From sessions 4 to 6, Derma V, toning, PicoSure, and Genesis were combined to steadily manage overall pigmentation and vascular concerns.
As improvement became visible, the same treatment intensity was maintained, and the gradual fading of pigmentation was confirmed.
In session 7, a Ruby + Genesis combination scabbing procedure was performed to remove the remaining age spots.

[Sessions 8–10]
Session 8 focused on skin stabilization with Genesis + toning, and in session 9, while satisfaction continued to improve, age spot treatment was performed with the Ruby laser.
In session 10, compared with the beginning, melasma, spots, and age spots were all noticeably improved, and the patient was highly satisfied with the results.
Looking at the photos after 10 sessions,
After the procedure (Photo date: 2026-01-23)
- Melasma and spots had visibly lightened,
- The age spots that had been a concern were greatly reduced,
- Redness was also significantly relieved.
The patient was very satisfied with the procedure and decided to continue treatment with an additional extension.
Today, we looked at a 10-session treatment case for a patient who had complex concerns involving melasma, spots, age spots, and vascular dilation in Jamsil Laser Toning.

When dealing with complex pigmentation concerns, it is much more effective to select and combine lasers according to the skin condition and lifestyle at each session rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach with a single laser.
Also, even for those who need downtime to be adjusted, if the treatment plan is flexibly designed to fit the schedule, they can continue treatment without much burden.
We hope this case will be helpful for those with similar concerns.
Thank you. This was U&I Jamsil^^
